In iOS 26 carplay is pretty much unusable on UC5, somehow "Edit Pages" comes up and covers bottom of the screen, so it can't be used.
@RamCares please take a look.

Hi @gskowronek

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We would like to see what we can do to help. Please private message us with more details of your concerns.

When I plug my phone into USB to charge CarPlay goes all goofy. Just started that recently. Wireless it works just fine but has a hard time connecting at times especially if I just disconnected from the cable.

There are times where the screen will flash up and down and the bottom menu keys disappear. I do a soft reset holding the power button in and nothing changes. Usually after turning the truck off and starting up again it will correct itself.

This all started after the last uConnect update. Pretty annoyed that they still can’t get this crap straightened out on UC5 after this many years. Previously I had the 8.4 screens for almost 10 years and had ZERO issues.

If you have iOS 26, that is in beta stage. 18.5 is the current iOS software.

Having the same issue in my ‘22 1500. Uconnect 5 build: FCA-MY24.U35.26-PROD. iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 26 public beta 1.

The temporary workaround I found is to use CarPlay in split screen mode, then it’s usable. But I would love to have full screen CarPlay back.

That’s exactly why we test betas
Exactly, those of us testing the beta are catching & reporting these bugs early so hopefully there’ll be a fix for Uconnect before iOS 26 is officially released.

I can also confirm that it’s most likely an issue with Uconnect & not iOS as CarPlay works as expected in my wife’s Mazda.

Wonder how it behaves on 2025 14" screen

I noticed this same bug. But since it's an Apple Beta we are running, reporting here is probably not the right thing to do. I did report the feedback to Apple with very detailed descriptions of the issue. Hopefully we'll see a fix from them when Public Beta 2 comes out this week.

Apple is very bad about breaking things on betas, so I really doubt anything will need to be done by Uconnect. This seems to be an issue with the way Carplay is detecting the 12" vertical screen. I do agree with you that it Carplay is pretty useless as it is in Public Beta 1 :)

I can confirm the split screen setup does indeed bypass the issue, that was was my workaround also. @gskowronek you can setup split screen Carplay by customizing one of the Uconnect extra screens and setting it up there. Once the issue is resolved you can then just get rid of that extra screen.

Come on guys, just go to settings on carplay and turn off smart display zoom under display. That is what I did and works just like before.

Yes you are correct, but you can't do that from the truck screen as it is. You have set it to split screen to get access to the settings or have access to another carplay vehicle that isn't broken. I was only trying to give assistance on how to get to that setting in the video.
