If the Pulsar does what it actually claims it does then the manufacture can detect it even if you remove it. There are certain values the ECU and TCM datalogs and has limits on and when those are exceeded they know you have tune. Will they check these values if you go in for an oil change or blinker fluid? No.....but if you go in for transmission replacement or you blow your engine then either the dealer or a RAM warranty specialist will. Most manufactures of these types of mods will cite the Mag-Moss act. It give false comfort to people looking for an excuse to buy mods. Will the Mag-Moss act save your suspension warranty if have a Pulsar? Yes.....but your engine and transmission warranty would be at risk for sure.
I don't care if it's a piggy back or a flash tune the above is true. I've had piggy back (most recent is JB4 on my BMW) and flash tunes (most recent is bootmod3 on the BMW) on like my last 7 cars. I was also a knowledge expert with creating custom JB4 tunes. So I'm not against tunes and not trying to tell people not to do it, but make sure you don't have a false sense of security.
Also I'm still waiting on a dyno from one of you with a Pulsar. A Dynojet or Mustang dyno will do so we can see the delta of the before and after.
EDIT: Some manufactures do run full ECU/TCM diagnostic when you go in for just regular service. Audi it notorious for this. BMW has started to do it too. Basically the first thing the tech does when you go if for an oil change (as an example) is hook up your car to a diagnostics machine to check for any ECU/TCM problems. This all get uploaded to their "cloud". It will flag your car for tunes as well. It's done automatically with no input from the tech. More manufactures are doing this to gather data on their customers.
