BEST Cap/Top out there...... RSI SmartCap ?

Looks like an awesome cap - wish they had the color matching available, they show a silver cap on the website but they are really only avail in black or in white for the commercial cap. I think a naked stainless would be sweet.

Is the logo on the "doors" painted on or a sticker? I prefer less branding or monotone. If it was gloss black lettering against the matte black powder coat that'd be fine.

It is a sticker, I am planning on peeling the name part off and replacing it with some thing else once the weather starts to warm up

It's a sticker, it is a big one and covers a lot, but it is a sticker, there's a whole write up on this Tacoma page about how some guys are "de-badging" it and putting other decals in its place.

That's one big *** sticker then! Not sure it's worth the trouble. Magnet covering it would be easier. Someone should get creative.

Attached are a few photos of the track with measurements of the slot area. There should be load bar feet that can fit this type of track.

I weighed my Rebel completely empty with just myself in it at a local dump, it was 6000 lbs. I then put the RSI cap on, 1up bike rack single (30lbs) and it was 6230 lbs. So I think the cap is 200 lbs of payload.

Mind sharing a photo of the setup? I have a Ram on order and have 1up racks myself. I'm contemplating between this Smartcap + roof system ... or a Retrax XR system.

Question: it looks like you used bolts/washers to attach the rhino rack feet to the RSI cap tracks instead of the square factory inserts that slide into the tracking.
I bought the rhino rack but the inserts didn’t fit the RSI tracking (Wrong ones). I was wondering if bolts will secure it just as well?

Here’s my 2021 with the RSI Smart Cap. It’s a very solid build and quality all around. The gull wing doors and hardware are very impressive and seem super strong.
I bought a Rhino roof rack with 60” load bars I still have to mount. Rhino makes racks that will fit almost any cap manufacturer specific factory tracks.

I don’t have a photo with the OneUp on it since I take it off most of the time when I get home from a ride. I bought one of the wall storage systems from OneUp and it makes it really easy to store. My profile pic has the Smartcap on my Rebel. I am really glad I went this route, you do lose some visibility, but the access to it is awesome, alot more space than a Retrax, you just have to understand you will lose the look of a truck without a shell. But I think it’s worth it, and I can put my dogs back there. Do you have the multi function tailgate?

the granite looks very nice with night edition with black accents. Turns out a buddy here in Pgh just bought the same truck as me but with full crew cab.

I ordered the normal tailgate. Was your 1up the hitch mount? or mounted up on the roofbars?

The biggest consideration to go with a cap is so I could secure my bikes inside when we're out camping but not riding the bikes (overnight, on side excursions, etc).

Mine is hitch mount. I plan on building a cross bar with a wheel mount so I can carry bikes inside and lock them inside. I have a big 29er and it just barely fits with front wheel off. I think you could get 3 bikes inside as long as they aren’t all 29ers
