So this has been going on for months now and I don't know what to do, where to go or who to ask for support. I have a 2023 Ram 1500 Limited with the 12" screen. Running U35.26-PROD. I have had to factory reset multiple times and reboot almost weekly. My issues are two fold
  1. Apple Carplay, wired or wireless, has not worked reliably since this latest update. Many thread about it so I won't get into it.
  2. This afternoon as I was driving wireless carplay was connected and then the system rebooted itself. Once it came back (and it took forever) I got the restoring Uconnect apps screen. 5 minutes remaining (took 23 minutes) and still not giving me access to the app tray. It bounces up and down constantly.

Once this begins I get the wonderful bouncing up and down while it restores the apps

Once the apps were "restored" this is what I get

Again, cannot get to the app tray to do anything, no ability to turn on heated/vented seats etc... Is this an issue with software or hardware at this point?

Can I contact uConnect for support or do I need to go to a dealer? @RamCares please give me a support lane to proceed in?

Thanks all

Take it to the dealer. And if possible, take it in while it's happening so they can see it. Otherwise, they may just say they couldn't repeat the issue

I think it’s software. When I had 27.46 CarPlay worked great wired but wireless was questionable when using anything other than the factory nav. The last 2 software updates make CarPlay unavailable as often as it is available. I’ve tried different phones, different cables and get the same result. It’s unavailable for days at a time and then suddenly works again for a day or 2 then goes unavailable again

Try disconnecting the battery for an hour and then see what happens.

To keep things updated: I brought the truck to the dealership yesterday. They ran diagnostics and couldn't find anything wrong with it, although they did say there was a code referencing a bad media port. They tried to blame a dashcam that was installed a month ago, but I expressed how this has been going on since last year. They seemed to want to blame an "older phone" but when I told them I use an iPhone 16 pro they thought differently. They said they are going to replace the radio. They should have an eta in a few days and it will likely be 2-3 weeks.

I've experienced the screen jumping like that after a update before and it resolved itself about 24 hours later and has not returned. I do not have the CarPlay connection issues you are experiencing though.

Those two last updates were not meant for us but 2025 Radios. Ram stopped the update because it started a bunch of issues with all trucks. The TRX forums lost their minds when they saw an RHO graphics on their trucks. The last stable update for 2022-2024 is 27.46. I removed my telematics module to prevent communication out of my truck to Ram. The problem now is you can not go back to a lower software version. My unit does everything I need without an issue. I enable Off Road Pages and Performance pages as well.

What all do you need to do to remove the telematics box and not get errors. It's the one above the radio module, correct?

I’m also experiencing this same issue with the bouncing screen and constant resets. Can you please assist me as well? @RamCares

This same exact thing happened to my truck.. I tried the soft reboot numerous times but that didn’t fix it, so I reset it to factory defaults and set it all up again, and it has not happened since.

I have a 2022 and have had the same screen issues. For me, the screen went back to normal behavior after sitting overnight. I don't know why it takes so long for an update to apply and for the Uconnect system to quite down, but it does.

I have an issue with losing my EPS while driving along. It happens randomly and infrequently, but it does happen. I took it in, and after five days in the shop, despite the handful of DTCs pointing to the EPS, they told me that my dashcam caused the issue. I was caught off guard by that answer, but I managed to ask them how they determined that the dashcam caused the EPS dropout. The response just got more ridiculous, so to avoid frustration, I moved on.

Stellantis really needs to stop pretending that Uconnect and Ram are different companies. Uconnect is wholly owned by Stellantis. Uconnect needs to be slapped around to get their stuff in order because it's making their otherwise very nice trucks look like techonological turds. @RamCares should be all over this and escalating internally.

Must have been the Flux Capacitor!

I'm having the same issue with my 2022 Limited. Carplay connection is unreliable in both wired and wireless configurations. I've only had the truck for a month and It happens a couple times a week. Last night on the way home from dinner, Carplay was totally disconnected and I totally lost all control of the Uconnect unit and experienced the annoying loud "Buzz" emitting from all the speakers. It will correct itself once I do a reboot or turn the truck off and restart. It's very annoying, but my truck has 59K miles and is out of warranty. I did purchase a Mopar Flexcare maximum warranty, but I don't want to spend a $200 deductible upfront if something else can be done. I guess I will try the factory reset to see if that helps.

Wireless CarPlay is a joke now. Not one single issue the last 3+ years on my 2022 till the last update. Seems to connect whenever it feels like it and at random disconnects and then reconnects a few seconds later. Very annoying when trying to use a navigation app like Waze. Worst is when the screen locks up and then the screen loses part of it’s function with bouncing up and down like it’s stuck in a loop. Only way to clear is turn off the truck and allow everything to reboot again. Soft reset holding in the power button doesn’t do anything. Very annoying.🤨

I even bought a new iPhone 16 thinking that was the issue but made absolutely no difference. It’s obviously a uConnect issue. Do better Stellantis.😡

These days when I get any notices for updates on anything I own anxiety about what may happen enters my mind immediately. Seems like whoever creates these updates never tests them before releasing to the public. Often followed up by another update to fix bugs from a previous update. Nothing but a damn joke most of the time.

I will say It again. My truck had these exact symptoms.. at least every other day, “Updating… “ .. Screen bouncing up and down…. Most of the buttons missing.. I did the soft reset (long press power button, or whatever it is..) and it would fix it for a day or so, but it would always return. I then did a factory reset to default through the settings menu and it has never occurred again. This was over a month ago. It takes about 10 - 15 mins to set everything back up again (just like the first day you got the truck). I highly recommend that everyone gives it a try before wasting your time bringing it to the dealer. Good luck.
