I'm from AZ too and i got the AC Hack "just in case". Blows very cold and i'm happy with the temps, but i have another problem:
When the AC gets too cold, it seems like it doesn't get rid of the condensation water and it stinks pretty bad, i had it in my 2019 Pacifica and now in the DT Ram, I hate FCA for that bad design, i'm actually thinking of switching to another brand just because of the musty smell from ac. This issue is why i traded my Pacifica for the Ram and now i need to deal with it again.
I remember issues like that from long ago, where the A/C system would just get funky. However, I did not perform any hacks at this time. But I'll share a few observations, more so related to my 2018 JL Wrangler which I traded in this past December. On the JLWrangler forum, there were quite a few people complaining about the A/C system there as well. My JL was fully loaded with the auto temp selection, however, I always found that it never seemed to be able to control the A/C properly. It was either always way too damn cold, or too warm for me. As time went on, one of the other complaints was the fact that there's a fresh air vent or damper that seems to open on a regular schedule in the vehicle. This damper is to allow fresh air into the cabin and was a separate door outside of the actual A/C system. Problem with it of course in the summer is that all of a sudden there's warm (HOT AZ Air) entering the cabin. Couple that when you might be offroad - now you have dust coming into the vehicle. That along with the A/C system vast temp swings made me nuts.
All of my previous vehicles (mainly BMW 3/4 series) had no problems whatsoever maintaining temps regardless of what I set it at. I never really had to fuss with the temps in those cars vs that JL. My rebel must have the lower end A/C setup in it so I really only have three dials. One for Fan speed, one for temp, and one for the direction of airflow. I like this better, even though I'd prefer some "auto" temp setup, however, I find that I don't have to fuss with it much in this RAM. Not quite as good as the BMW's, but certainly far better than that JL was.
Really it boils down to very weird A/C system nonsense in these FCA products. Not quite sure what they are attempting to do given that A/C technology is nothing new....
