5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

For those of you that put in an aftermarket sub, I have seen a few that did dynomat behind the seats. How much of a difference did it make?

Do you have a pic of the PAC harness under the ANC and where you tapped the wires? I'm guessing I tap into the speaker wires that plug into the ANC then connect them to the PAC-CH01and plug it back into the ANC?? I got everything on the way so it will be easier to figure out when Its in my hands. First time doing car audio so forgive me for sounding like an idiot. I ordered the PAC-APH-CH01 but hopefully it will be plug and play still.
Yes you will tap into the pac harness. The instructions will have the wire color codes and you will tap in on the back pair of speakers. No need to cut the factory wiring. Also the carpet will be split under the driver's seat so you can run the wires with out needing to take out the seat.

It would definitely be an improvement as they did not include any sound deadening material but do not know that the cost or time is worth it.

I don’t have a pre and post comparison regarding the rear cabin sound dampening

I did use noico when I replaced the 6x9s in all doors and it seemed to help a lot.

I recently had the JL stealth box installed (includes to 12” TW3 subs). It it’s powered by JL XD1000 amp. I had them apply some sound dampening material ( similar to the noico but wasn’t dynamat...).
This thing bumps !!!! They tuned the amp for me.
I turned it up to 25 volume level while listening to a bass heavy rap song. This is about as loud as it is comfortable for me to continually listen too ( very subjective but it seems like I tend to listen to music at louder volumes than most of my friends and family ) .. anyway. I got out of the truck had all the doors and windows closed and was very surprised at how little I could hear from the outside.

All in all I think it is definitely worth it to apply sound dampening material wherever you can !

Need some advice. I finally got a chance to install the Infinity door speakers and ran into a bit of an issue. My thoughts are not everyone has an angle grinder, so are you guys reusing the factory screws that have the attached washer and modifying them by removing the washer so I doesn't pinch the speaker material, or are you going to a hardware store and getting replacement screws more similar to the factory thread than the ones that come in the box with the speakers? If so, any specifics on what you are using would be appreciated.

I used some of the screws that came with the speakers for the 6x9’s.

Had some fun this morning upgrading the door speakers. Dash speakers on the way. Decided to join the Infinity Reference crew, and boy am I glad I did. Such a night and day difference. If anyone is contemplating the upgrade, do it, you won't be sorry. I have the base 6 speaker system just for reference. No feedback when driving with and without MDS engaged and did not switch the pins for these connectors like many have had to. Crutchfield for everything. Also ended up using #10x1" flat Phillips screws for install.

This is a 6x9 component speaker consisting of a 3 1/2" tweeter and a 6x9 woofer. Would I be able to install the woofer in the front door and the tweeter in the dash? If so, would I need to utilize the crossover they provide, or could I just install them using the Metra harness? I have the stock 6 speaker system with the 8.4 NAV and the ANC module under the driver's seat. Thanks for any insight.

Assuming that there is no major difference between the 2019 classic and the DT I think it would fit and be a great idea. Pay attention to notes for the wiring on the install in the review below.

My speaker upgrade is complete. I cannot believe the sound quality I am experiencing from these speakers. By far the best money I have spent on my truck to date. It was great that I got them while Crutchfield had them all 25% off.

i know the feeling.i really didnt notice how good my upgrade was until i play one certain song...and i was like "WoW!!":love:!

Need more advice. I thought all was good after putting all 6 speakers in, but now at around volume 16 to 19 I am getting static in the front door and dash speakers. Is this what people are resolving with switching the pins in the in the Metra harness, or is the mismatched polarity causing a different issue I have not experienced? Also, reinstalled the stock dash speaker and the static did not go away. Drove the truck a lot yesterday after just switching the door speakers and did not notice any static. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Also, how do you re-pin these stinkin' things? I should also mention, I installed the included inline capacitors on the dash speakers.

So after reviewing several posts, I decided to give the Kicker Hideaway HS10 a try. I am not looking at monster dbs just looking for a full sound with the non-alpine 8.5 setups in the 2020 bighorns. I took a chance with the PAC ANC-CH01 (for the 2019 5gens). This is also where I will tap-in for my amp input signal. After removing the driver's side back sear and clicking the back firewall looks to be a good spot. The wiring harness that is included with the Kicker Hideaway is long enough to reach the ANC module and the battery, so no other wiring kits are needed. This took no more than 4 hours, could be much faster but was very cautious not to break the plastic trim and clips. Overall I am pleased with the sound, will need to do some tuning to get it dialed in. I'm most concerned with bypassing the ANC as the truck was very quite. I will update in a few days.
thanks for the tip..think i will got that type of woofer! (y) !

so I finished my install last night only after reading most of this thread and great info but have a few issues, the anc drone, disconnected mics so fixed, but my sound isn't great. I added the kickers to the dash and the treble is ear piercing, checked phase and are correct, then i put mtx 6.9 front a rear doors and they have less bass than the factory speakers. to the point is pretty much none even with the eq adjusted up.

I was in the same place as you are. After upgrading speakers, the sound was clear but too much treble...uncomfortably so. The solution is a subwoofer. That will make all the difference.

I added a sub at the same time, after playing with it i ended up putting a breather mat from carbon fiber vacuum bagging between the dash speaker and grill and what a difference its like poly fill in a sheet form, it cut down the highs enough that my teb is at zero.

thats what i have and attempt to use.but what are those "Switches"in the back are for(as well as a little button).which switch or voltage do /should i use?

I didn’t have to move any of the switches on mine. The instructions that can either the unit I’ll explain what they are for. But for just a sub amp add on with the alpine radio, the switches should already be set.

you know your right.i took you guys advice and not touch those switches.it still played with no problem.i have not conected to my amp yet.truck right now is getting "Ceramic coated".so what i did for now.is just playing it thru the stock setup(Alpine)works just fine!.no static, error codes.etc.just have to install and secure the amp..here is where its going guys .

Does anyone know what this cable is for behind the rear seat sound deadning? It looks like the HK sub power and inputs. Mine is the 6 speaker system on the ram rebel. Im wondering i can tap my powered sub into there for high level inputs?
