5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

Ran my amplifier power last night. 4 gauge Knucoptz bassik power from the battery though the “aux wire grommet” nipple thing on the firewall through the sills and terminated under my rear drivers side seat where my amp and processor will live.

Running speaker wires tomorrow using the ACH harness cut so i can send the speakers signals to my processor/amp then back up to the harness out to the speakers.

Still undecided on how I will install the hardware under the seats and the final design of my sub box but slowly making progress on my stereo.

How do you like those kenwood components? Were they a pretty decent upgrade from factory before you put the amp in? Did you lose or gain any volume/power? What did you end up needing to install the kicker key? Thanks
I really like the Kenwoods, even without the amp they were a noticeable upgrade from stock. I did not lose any power. For the amp I bought the ANC bypass harness from NetAudio which was all that was needed. Very happy with the sound now, although I might add a small sub just to fill in a little more low end. Damn truck is hurting my wallet.....

Thanks. Just ordered the kenwoods. I hoping I don’t get the urge to get a amp, truck is leased and don’t wanna put too much money in it.

I understand, mine is leased also but I want to enjoy my truck to the max. Using the ANC bypass harness makes it easy to go back to stock.
I may try an under seat powered sub for the same reason, easy to go back to stock. Who knows, maybe I will buy the truck at the end of the lease...

Just confirming, for the alpine system, it seems like I can use the first revision of Pac Amp pro. V2 for non amplified systems from a quick read.

Ok got my processor and amp install Using the GTO auto sensing as my turn on lead which basically uses speaker signal to tell my processor to turn on.

I used the PAC harness which bypassed the ANC system and tapped that for my speaker signals to my processor and amp.

However ever since I reconnected the battery now my amp and processor stay on all the time so that harness I use is picking up a signal in the speakers somehow all the time.

Where is everyone pulling their switched lead from?

Edit: turned off gto (autosensing) on my processor and ran a switched lead from the I rental fuse box under the steering wheel connect via add-a-fuse to position F66. Everything works perfectly!!!!

Time to clean up the wires and start planning my subwoofer box.

Now if only my truck was here...

My Helix just arrived from Germany earlier this week.
I did a quick install and tune setup during the week (limited time in the evenings).
I am very impressed in how good those stock HK speakers do sound after just some basic tuning !!!

Has anyone added components to the front door/dash? I'm considering it, not with stock equipment of course since full range only sent to rear.

Does anyone know where I can find 15’ of black rj14 cable? I swear it’s like trying to find a unicorn. I need it for my bass knob and rj11 won’t work. Fits in the plug but missing two conductors.

I’m half tempted to buy a new rux knob from alpine and call it a day. Frustrating not being about to find a simple cable.

Not black but you could just get some black sleeving to cover it.
