3.21 vs 3.92: The Last Word

Coming from a 2018 Tundra 5.7 with 4.30 Rear AND driving both the 3.21 and 3.92 Ram 1500 , i would say that the 3.92 is more peppy, defined and stout = similar to my Tundra
Three important traits of a strong work truck - lol

3.21 is great all around use except for the factual points that has been elevated on here.

Thank you-all for the good laughter

I did once had a '68 RS/SS Camaro with a 377ci destroker, M22 Rock Crusher 4spd, and 4.56 posi...that maybe was too much gear, but a SBC singing at 7000rpm is sweet, sweet music!!

Indeed, thanks for the laughs; because the 3.21 has a shorter first gear with the ZF than the Tundra with a 4.30, and it has 2 more gears on top of it all. The factual points are, the 3.21 destroys the tundra on 3 key points:
1) shorter first gear (better for off the line pulling)
2) taller overdrive (better MPG when driving unloaded)
3) two more gears for perfect rev matching.

Whatever you're thinking, you need to think again good sir.

But 3.21’s can also make 20+ mpg 🫢
Not to rain on your parade, but I've feathered out as high as 23.5mpg on one tank (one only, took too much effort)!
I also average 20.0-20.5mpg without much difficulty, but do have be pretty easy on the throttle..20 is no problem at all to get.
Lately, I drive like I don't give a crap and I easily get 19mpg.
My highly optioned Laramie G/T is definitely very heavy, so that is exceptional to me.
I've said on this forum before, I will never ever complain about the mpg of the Ram DT Hemi!

the 2025's have 355's why not meet in the middle? whos is gonna be the first to put 355 in a hemi truck?
3.55s and 3.92s were a $95 option on DT Hemis..I know I've seen a couple signatures on this forum with them. Seems few split the difference and picked the 3.55s though for some reason.
