Throw the JB4 or Cat6 tuner in that RAM with some better tires. Sleeper for sure.

What she's talking about with that midrange no downshift power with the Hurricanes is exactly what I've been saying about the HEMI with regard to driveability. The HEMI is a good engine, the Hurricanes are better, shame on Dodge for not investing in a next gen HEMI/V8 but maybe they did and its the hurricanes, IDK.
The HEMI undoubtedly sounds better but that's it

New here and my 2023 Ram 1500 5.7/e-torque is my first Ram product. I'm retired, I don't go anywhere, so my Ram has low miles, just under 23k and in the twenty-eight months of ownership, it has been dead nuts reliable. With that said, I would expect any truck/motor combo to be trouble free and reliable with low miles and easy driving. The e-torque doesn't bother me, though it is starting to get noisy and not as smooth when it starts the truck. Can I see issues on the horizon? Maybe...
Anywho, my last truck was a 2022 F-150 STX with the little 2.7 ecobeast and I added a 5-Star 93 octane tune. I don't have the dyno sheet anymore, but it made approximately 370 rwhp and 440 rwtq SAE and was a blast to drive around, at least as far as trucks go. It was quick enough but when I heard the legendary 5.7 Hemi was going away, I wanted one. So, I picked up a basic Lone Stare package and though it was slower than the tuned 2.7, it was overall a nicer truck IMO. So not so long, while waiting for my fourth free oil change at the dealership, I was able to test drive a 2026 Warlock with the SO Hemi. It was impressive, as fast or quicker than my tuned 2.7, smoother and quieter. That would be my only complaint as I like some visceral feedback from my motors.
So, which would I take? As much as I've enjoyed my 5.7 Hemi, I'd take the Hurricane every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'm retired, bored most days, had planned on keeping my 5.7 for many years to come but now, the Hurricane equipped Warlock haunts my dreams lol

hurricane for higher towing capacity although some master technicians claim the 6 isn't good for towing. my v8 hemi just fine for tooling around normal driving road trips etc. whatever you get it has the 10 year warranty

Guys who have done the swap have found it gives slightly better MPG than the 5.7.
But in any case I want a real engine. Squeezing 30 psi out of a mousy motor just isn't my thing.

I’m going hemi even though my 2020 is at dealer getting engine replaced I like the new 26 that’s coming out and probably will lease the Laramie longhorn or limited hemi
I am getting 14.3 in suburban driving on my 2022 rebel 5.7 etorque 3.92s. 16 highway. Ridiculous.
I don’t see how the 6.4 could be any worse and if it comes without etorque I would be all in.
More displacement takes more fuel to run. That's how it can be worse. Just look at the Chargersz Challengers, and Durango's. The 6.4s are EPA rated at lower MPG, and real world get worse. That won't change just because you put it in a Ram.
As for comparing to guys who have done a 6.4 swap, they are also running custom tunes in order to make the swap work and I'd wager most have other mods done at the same time. Which can help with efficiency over a stock tune 5.7.

6.4 is a bigger engine, it's going to use more fuel than the 5.7, even the truck engine. If the 6.4 is from a car, its laughable to expect similar mpg to the truck 5.7 but for sake of the topic, the 6.4 isn't available in the 1500 and likely never will.
Simple fact is this, there's only so much energy in a gallon of gasoline, ~125K btu. More power requires more fuel, no way around that except a smaller engine and boost. Out of boost, the smaller engine will benefit from its size and consume less fuel, in boost if will act like a larger engine and drink fuel like a drunken sailor. The SO gets slightly better mpg than the 5.7 with more power. The HO gets, IMO, slightly less MPG than the 5.7 but with the benefit of a lot more power. At this point I wouldn't go back to the 5.7, I should get my 20 back this week and when I drive it, I'm sure it wont compare to the HO or even the SO. I wish it were different because like the HEMI but it needs massive updates

I can feel my 20 idling but I attribute that to the VVT, has idled that way since new, it accelerates silky smooth but not as smooth as the I6.
My 2003 idled really really smooth, I didn't know it was running sometimes, i put 277K miles on that engine with the only failures being a water pump and a broken intake valve spring on cylinder 6. My 20 has 97K miles and no issues to this point.
