2025 Tungsten - Good/Bad

The map is online but it’s mainly Interstate highways or a handful of other divided , limited access highways.
Right. try it in a rural area like mine. I'm going to try it on multiple roads where I can actually engage cruise for a period.

The hands-on ADA works. It’s not great but it works. The hands free works better when it works
Completely agree. My wife's car has active driver assistance - 2022 X5. It works much better than the Ram's. Her X5 doesn't have the hands free though.

It may be just me, but I feel like the hands-on assist allows crabs to the center line. I find myself over-riding it, and pulling to the right. It can over-correct sometimes, too, and it seems like it's aggressively pulling to the center after a curve, which could scare anyone coming the other way. I think it's not as noticeable when it's in hands-free mode since there's no oncoming traffic. But it does seem to center in the lane much better in the hands-free mode. Just my experience. In any case, I've used it so little that I still have a big pucker factor and keep my hands close to the wheel.

You are probably aware already but I was not at first. I love how the hands free driving works and it works quite well. I didn't find out until later than it only works on pre-approved highways. If it isn't an interstate it probably won't work. At least it doesn't in my area.
But does hand free actually let you sit back and drive hands free or tell you after a few minutes to get hands on the wheel and if you don't, it goes to default driving no hands free?

It's legit hands free but you have to keep your eyes on the road. A camera is watching you and it will alert you if your eyes drift for too long.

The Ram I have will not allow you to drive hands free after a short period even if you stare at the road in front of you only blinking!

Are you sure it said hands free driving with the green lights on each side of the cluster when you engaged it? Sounds like you were using assisted driver assist instead. Hands free is hands free unless there is construction zone or similar and it can't see the lines well. Then it will return to ADA for a time. I drove with mine engaged for a couple of hours hands free when I drove home from Mark Dodge in LA.

I drove most of a 200 mile trip with it on. It works amazingly well.

Well since I have not that many miles it maybe you're correct, and I missed that. I will check it out for the green bars. Never paid that much attention....Thanks for the heads up.

Agree.

It's pretty smart. I pretended to fall asleep by tilting my head and squinting my eyes. It violently vibrated my *** and didn't let me turn on hands free again for like 20 minutes 😂 true story...
LOL....That's too too funny!! I think me not been on the right road.

The cluster, and the HUD (if you have it configured right), will show the status of hands-on or hands -off. It shows a steering wheel with either hands on it, or hands having near the wheel (but not on it).

Dealer could not duplicate; there were no stored codes and this has not recurred. As an update to my original post, my truck has now been at my local dealership for over two weeks. I took it in for a number of minor items including CarPlay audio dropouts, mirrors not retaining settings, proximity wakeup not working, and a loud rear cabin popping noise over road imperfections and while cornering at lower speed. The last item has turned out to be a real mess as the dealership had to call in Stellantis to help locate the source of the popping noise. Working with a local (St. Louis area) Stellantis tech, they replaced the sunroof rails - no joy. Next, they dropped the headliner and found "something" and while working on that, the Stellantis tech managed to poke a hole in the roof; truck has been at the body shop for over a week.

Important to note in this update, I still love the truck! Great ride, power, luxury, etc. Also wanted to note that my local dealer (Lou Fusz, O'Fallon MO) has been great to work with and has provided me with a loaner truck while everything gets sorted out. I'll update with specifics when I get the truck back.
My hands free stopped working again with the hands free driving unavailable -- service required. Interestingly, before it stopped working, when I started it up in the morning the automatic emergency braking light came on the dash, but the next time I stopped and started it, it went away.

Twice now I've had the alerts for forward collision/automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring. Same thing - they are reset after shutting the truck off. Both times it's happened when the truck was sparkling clean and there was clear/dry weather. So no way it was an environmental issue with sensors. And when it happens, the blind spot indicator LEDs on the mirrors stay on, so between that and the dashboard, it's a constant reminder.
I did notice before it happened the last time, that when backing into my garage the ParkSense alert sounded much more harsh than normal.

I, too, have some of the other issues. CarPlay dropouts, proximity wake-up not working, and some settings being transient when they should be permanent. There is also some source of road noise from the passenger side of backseat. I don't remember it there when I got the truck.

Any updates? Curious if any of the issues were resolved, and if so, how.

I've noticed some wind/road noise from the same area. The dealership made an adjustment to the door but can still notice it.

I have this exact thing going on with the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and also it disabling Automatic Emergency Braking. Mine seems tied to taking it through the car wash or driving in really wet weather. Mine does not reset upon restart, but seems to resolve itself after a day or two. Also when it happens, the BSM seems to enable then disable a few times as if there was a bad connection in the system before finally staying off. I then have the constant lights on in the mirrors until the BSM system resolves itself at some point - usually at some restart a day or two later. Truck is a tthe dealer right now for it.

Interestingly - I have had park sense be a little flaky and my proximity wakeup lights don't seem to work. So likely same issue you have. Let me know if you get to a resolution.

I haven’t taken mine in for any of this yet. I know my local dealer well. I won’t get a loaner and they’ll have the truck for a long time. So I’m waiting until it’s absolutely necessary. At the same time, hoping you or someone else may get these issues fixed and learn what it is.
If I end up taking it in or figuring it out, I’ll let you know for sure. In the meantime I hope yours gets fixed and they give a clue about it.
There were issues with wiring looms in the beginning and others have talked about areas where water can short connections. Wondering if this is like that.
