2025 RAM trailer camera

I doubt that it will work, based on the how the UConnect system is "programed" to work, 2 AUX cams. Result of both programing, hardware and the reuse of the video connector on the bumper from prev generations.
Based on the behavior I see of the surround view kit on yours and @Laramieblue truck, and that same behavior on previous model year trucks, I know for a fact that it will work provided trailer surround view is in the bcm configuration on these 2025’s (and I’m sure it is).
Once we figure out how to do programming with alfaobd on these 2025’s, once you enable trailer surround view in the BCM, your AUX 1 camera key will disappear, and all the trailer surround keys will take its place, and you will still have the AUX 2 key:

Do you have a source to get the pin out of that 12 pin connector? Diagram of what pins do what? That may be helpful in interfacing to it.
I’ll dig up the pinout tomorrow.
Basically, you have 10 pins being utilized:
Power
Ground
Can BH+
Can BH-
Camera 1 signal
Camera 1 common
Camera 1 shield
Camera 2 signal
Camera 2 common
Camera 2 shield

The 6 camera circuits originate as the aux camera analog inputs on the radio module.
Power and ground is used to power the analog aux trailer cameras and the Trailer CVPM (that camera processor box).
Can BH is how the CVPM and radio communicate with button presses for different camera views.

Since your truck is configured for two aux cameras, you can actually pin 2 standard aftermarket analog cameras into the 12-pin, and view them with the aux 1 and aux 2 camera keys.
When the truck is configured for trailer surround view, you can use the surround view cameras, and you can also wire in an extra analog camera (like on the inside of the trailer), and view that with the aux 2 camera key.

Your optimism gives me hope but after talking to Stellantis accessory tech support folks they indicate they have not developed the software to fully support these cameras on the 2025 models. I asked them to put it on their task list but no indication from then when it will get done. Support tech also said there is NO build code to program or add to the computer system so taking it to the deal would not accomplish anything no matter what they tell us. Another user said it would be about 2 months to get updated software but not sure where he got that information.
I also emailed AlfaOBD to ask when their software will be able to interface to the all new 2025 computer system and have not heard back from them yet with ETA.
On the bright side my new 2025 is capable of receiving software updates over WiFi instead of having to take truck to dealer so maybe when Stellantis does complete the software for trailer surround view full functionality I will get it???????

Jimmy07> what truck do you have, I see most folks have their truck shown in their signature block.

I think with the 2025 HD Rams using the same new Canbus as the 25 1500's that will put pressure on Ram to figure this all out quickly.

First mistake- asking a stellantis employee about a feature.

That’s the way it is anyway. Sales codes are generally not available to add after the fact, unless it’s a Mopar accessory kit that is offered, such as the trailer brake controller or power side steps.

I recently talked to him. He has the support for the 2025’s ready, but he’s trying to figure out a way to unlock the security gateway strictly using alfaobd. Otherwise, we’re going to have to use an OBD splitter and two devices- one to unlock the gateway with an autoauth subscription, and one to use alfaobd with to make the changes while the other one keeps the gateway unlocked.

OTA updates been around for a while now. They pertain to radio and telematics software updates. This feature comes from the configuration in the BCM, so they can’t do an OTA update that changes the BCM configuration.

I don’t do signatures, but I have a 2017 2500 that has a complete 2021 limited indigo frost interior swapped in, all 2023 modules swapped in with all 2023 factory features retrofitted. Also have a 2019 1500 DT with some 2023 factory features added.

Jimmy,

With regards to the Sales Codes after the fact... Will alfaobd be able to add sales codes that the dealer cant/the truck was not built with? I dont mean like trailer brake controller type stuff that the dealer can easily add, but someone has non vented/heated seats and wants to add them, they add do the "physical parts", then will alfaobd be able to computer end of things? And it all works?

Yes, that’s exactly the main purpose of alfaobd

Where can I find these "sales codes"?
Does anybody know where to find the list of TSB or software/firmware updates for the 2025 models?

Well I guess I will put my (68527709AD) back in the box and stick on the shelf and wait ;-)

Digital rear view mirror
And way to tap into that and use that for a camera feed for now? for the Aux 1 and Aux 2 currently configured, will any of the cameras I have in the 68527709AD kit work if wired in with an adaptor or breakout pigtail modification?

Update from AlfaOBD today.
Sorry 2025 model is not supported, it is in plans for one of the next updates. You are right it is completely different in terms of electronics.

Alexey Chernikov

Do you have the 12 pin connector in your rear bumper and are there wires connected to it's back side from a wiring harness?
If so then you could just plug everything together in your truck bed to see if it all works, that is what I did to see the end results. I can live with what I have for now until a software patch comes out.

No it will display on AUX 1 *** I posted the image in a prev post. The BOX that all the cameras connect to is essentially a signal combiner that combines all 4 cameras into a single image and then is transferred to the truck as a single video image. The software isn't in the current 2025 UConnect system to allow the user to "pick" the camera views. So the video "quality" is greatly degraded. So the best we can hope for is the ability to gain access to the two available video channels. I will do some work on seeing if I can figure out AUX 1's signal input to allow the use of a single camera on that 12 pin port, and then work on the ability to connect a single camera to the AUX 2 port (top). I might be able to modify the connection point for the cameras I have with the kit I got, to allow the use of at least a rear camera to function. However as it stands even with the 12 pin combining camera system, I still can't get it to display in the electronic rearview mirror. RAM missed the mark on this one!

You are confusing the 2 separate and distinct systems.

12 pin = AUX 1/AUX2 or Trailer Surround/AUX2, analog systems feeding the UConnect radio screen
Coax port = Digital camera connected to the DRVM.

The DRVM camera systems are also different between model years (different OEM and protocols) Looks like they changed again a 3rd time for 2025.

If you just want a single camera, Infotainment makes a 12-pin wireless setup.

You can also source the Ford 12-pin plug/cable harness and modify it to use your own (better) analog cameras. Several of us on HDRams have done this.

I already pugged it in, and I posted the results above. It works partly, but I do not have the screen you have, it sill displays AUX1 and AUX2, all the cameras show on AUX one but the video is a but distorted and none the the buttons work.

You got a post link for that?

Really just used the pinouts and re-pinned the Ford one to match Ram.

Jimmy already mostly covered it all in post #41. You can pick up the Molex connectors from Mouser and build a cable to plug into the existing surround kit cable 12-pin lead to any analog camera. I used a Molex MX-150 series 33481-0624 6-pin when I built mine, but it looks like RAM changed the camera side header to a 12-pin.

If someone needed to source the 12-pin, Nichols has them Ford 2017-2024 12-Pin Harness for YAW, TPMS & Trailer Camera System or just go shopping for one of the following Ford part #
HC3Z-14B242-F
LC3T-14B242-HD
(23-24 PC3Z15A416A)

You may also reach out to Infotainment and see if they would sell just a 12-pin plug with pins, they seem to have found a source.

Yep, that is about as good as we can get for now according to Ram accessory tech support. Ram said our trucks were never designed for this feature. You might want to call them to ask for this feature to be fully developed since you bought the tow tech package that shows this as one of its functions. 800-846-6727, opt. 4,1. The squeaky wheel gets all the grease as they say.....

Thanks for this!, I was just going to repurpose the connector that came with that camera kit, then if the option becomes available to use the complete system I can redo the connector setup. I really just want to have one camera for the rear of the trailer so I can see behind me.

Are there any options that I can connect to the digital rearview mirror that would be ideal, but not having to spend $1000+ to get that done.
