2025 ram 1500 engine broke at 400miles

I personally would never buy a first year model. But I don’t think that Ram is crap. My second car is an X7 and I had other BMWs, range rovers, Chevys, Audis and more. They all have been great but some have bad reputations with reliability.
I would check smaller rental companies, some rent to drivers that are 18 also check Turo, some people rent to drivers 18 or older.
Imagine if BMW built a pick up truck......

It would be a great highway pick up, lol
I definitely wouldn’t take it off road, just like I would take the X7 off road. Seems too delicate but drives likes a sports car on the highway and on curvy roads.
At least BMW would pamper us in service :)
 
It is new a truck based on your post --- Contact ramcare @ 1-866-726-4636 -- they are usually helpful
Talk to your dealer to see if you can get a loaner until they figure out and correct the issue.
Search for posts related to engine codes.

My son Purchased a ram 1500 2025 last week. Worst decision ever.... any help with getting money back or lemon law ect.
Got to 400miles driven the. The truck started shaking horribly. Flashing engine light started. So we had it towed. But of course stelantis only covered 15 miles and the dealer was 24 miles away so we had to pay for towing. We then called to get a rental car because it under the "3 year 36000mile warranty" . Guess what they don't provide a car because my son is 18. So let let him purchase it completely under his name no co signer. Now 1 week later the engine cylinder #3 misfires and they don't know why but can't get him another car? They told him it could be at least 3 weeks because they still don't know why just that it's cylinder #3. He will get fired if he misses any work, but he doesn't have a car now to get there. And in the mean time he's making the payment on a piece of crap. Any advice in dealing with lemons or ram would be so appreciated l.
Sound's like the dealer is doing what they can...loan him o e of your cars. I understand frustration but the dealer is not at fault...life sucks at times...I keep multiple vehicles so I'm not at the mercy of others...I'm sure they will fix engine or replace it...full warrenty
 
All this over a cylinder mis-fire, calling for lemon lawing the truck for what seems like a dealer service dept that cant get to the truck or maynot have the repair parts?
How about trying a differnt dealer and using a little patience. BTW, 18 yo's cant rent a car so the dealer cant give them a loaner, old news, happend to me.

Nobody said to lemon law the truck. I mentioned lemon law as a form of peace of mind. My advice was, give the dealership time to fix it, but a buyer does have options just in case this turns into some ongoing problem that can't get resolved in a timely manner. So the point to the OP was, don't panic. If they need to use the lemon law down the road, it's there. I have also seen people use the process to get money back from the manufacturer and keep the car in the end after it was successfully repaired. For me, it's not so much about the misfire, but more so about how long you will be without vehicle. If this is something that goes on for weeks or longer, I know I wouldn't be happy and would start raising hell legally. But hopefully it gets repaired soon and this is all just for conversations sake.

I had to get 2 tires replaced last week because of road debris, spent 2 hours waiting for them to get to it and 30 min for the actual work.

I brought it up because the OP had concerns and expressed regrets. Nothing wrong with bringing up that the lemon law is there for consumers if things get really bad. Maybe you missed the part where the OP mentioned that she was told by the dealership that it may be at least 3 weeks before the truck is returned because they still don't know whats wrong. At least 3 weeks? That's after it's been there for a week already! I don't know about you, but if my new truck was going to be out of service for 4 weeks or maybe longer, I would be getting ready to return that POS and force a buy back. Hopefully they get it fixed much sooner, like today, but when the service department gives you no confidence that it can or will have it repaired anytime soon, you can't help but think of worst case scenario.

My 6-series had its whole pano roof leak, then it took 6 weeks to replace it.
Did you have to go on a BMW forum to read about how to fix it yourself using flowable silicone from AutoZone and then execute the fix in your driveway because BMW told you to pound sand?

Oh if it had only been that simple. It also had a failed center console, so it couldn't 'move'. Had to have the part shipped from Germany to repair it.
 
Reason number 837467362 why an 18 year old shouldn't be buying a brand new truck. Good luck on getting it fixed.
Hmmm…I didn’t even know there was one reason at all. How old does someone have to be when they should be able to buy a brand new truck?

I have had 6 or 7 since 2000. By far the best one is the one I have now. A 2021 M-Sport 530i. It is an amazing car in so many ways.
 
I would be talking to someone above the service dept... a truck with 400 miles and down with no date of return. I d be nicely asking for the truck to be replaced if they can t fix it ASAP. Then I d tell them I ll be trying to force that situation legally. It may put a little fire under them to make his truck a priority . Then they also know that there is a clock counting down to buyback time. Or , they could string you on for months. I hope it is a fast fix anyway. Good for that young man, keep his spirits up.

Edit/. just for what is worth, some dealers don t take women or even non car guys serious . Maybe a little male help from family/friend who know their way around dealers and cars. And I m sure they will also not be concerned about an 18 year old. Sad but it s my experience.
