2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Picked up my truck about a week back and it seems to be running good however I am getting a "service trailer break system" message. Hopping it's just some lose wire somewhere and not an indicator of future electrical problems.

Just wanted to give a heads-up to others so maybe someone else can avoid a problem I had. I ordered my truck through Mark Dodge. When it came in, I paid cash with a wire transfer for the entire cost of the truck. About six weeks later my title came in the mail, and it showed a lien. Since I didn't finance anything, the title should be completely clean with no liens. I've been working with Mark Dodge for several weeks on this. They believe someone along the line entered the wrong VIN, and it showed up against my title. They finally managed to get a letter stating the lien was removed, but if I want a clean title that shows no liens, I have to pay another $125. After everything I spent on this truck, this just isn't right. So to anyone else buying like I did, take extra care to make sure you get a proper title.

I got a notice this morning that there was an update for Uconnect. Didn’t really have much info as far as what was new but this is the current build for my truck right now. Anyone else get an update?

I got the update yesterday also. Not sure what it was for either.

UGH!! SO frustrating!!! The last update I got, the screen would freeze and a loud buzzing noise about 1 out of every 10 times I started the truck. I saw the update today and was super excited to get this installed figuring it would take care of this issue.

Now, EVERY FM and AM station doesn't work!!! Every time you click on a pre set FM or AM station it just goes into scan mode.

What build number does it give you? When I got my update notice I clicked install and it said I can’t drive or listen to the stereo. I decided to turn the truck off and came back maybe 5 minutes later. When I turned the truck back on it said it was installed but I couldn’t tell anything was different. Wasn’t sure if it really installed or not since I turned the truck off.

Same build number that it had previously, but now the AM and FM doesn't work like sated above, so it obviously did something.

Build is FCA-MY24.U35.26-PROD

Has anyone looked at their trips on the app. For the last few week the app is only picking up 5 mins of a trip.We all know it tells you starting point and end point only if you turn truck off.

Do you think all trucks will get this over the air or could you go to dealer. What if you live somewhere that has bad cell service and never get it.

I assume that if you don't get it over the air, the dealership will check and do any updates when it's in for service. My BMW recently was asking to do an over the air update and I declined it. After some time passed, I got a message that the over the air update was no longer available and to bring it to the dealership for the update.

So my truck has been at the dealer for 6 weeks now for a rear main seal leak and a few other items. anybody know if CA has a lemon law time limit for repair work? almost half the time I've owned this truck its been at the dealer for issues. I want out and into a vehicle i can rely on.

I don’t, I’m sure Google does though😉

That said, I’ve found that most of these type of issues, that lead people to want to lemon law a vehicle, are largely due to an individual dealership’s poor performance (knowledge, scheduling of techs, parts department skill, etc) rather than the vehicles themselves. Before stressing yourself further, it may be worth your while to ask/ look/read around and see if there’s another dealership in proximity whose service department is well regarded.
Good Luck

You can find the lemon laws on the Ram Owner's website. I'll attach it here, too. CA starts on page 10, but here is part of what might interest you:

The 30-day limit shall be extended only if repairs cannot be performed due to conditions beyond the control of the manufacturer or its agents.
