2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

The power tailgate also closes with a slight push up on it or it will close by itself holding down the button on the fob until it closes. It will also power close if you forgot to close it and get in the truck and hold it down as long as its in park.

It’s a remote release tailgate. You can open it from the fob or the button inside the truck (think of it like a trunk release). It’s not power, just remote release.
Ok, this makes sense and clears up some of the confusion.

I wonder if that is only with a certain package, my truck doesn't seem to have a button there. It does have the lights in the bed and a button on the inside of the bed drivers side rear near the tailgate and the outlet but that button only seems to turn off and on the bed lights.
By chance do you have a MFT?

What hard trifold does everyone recommend for the ‘25? I got a rough country soft trifold some months ago, not in love with it. Doesn’t lay flat, want to go something more low profile. Was looking at the gator fx, but wanted to see what fit well for others

I’ve had great luck (before the Ramboxes) with Tyger soft roll ups. Great quality, inexpensive on Amazon, easy to install and use and watertight if installed properly. I didn’t bother with low profile though. It’s certainly not huge.

I have a BakFlip. Took it off my 4th gen truck and moved it to my 5th gen. It has aged and held up well. No complaints. Someone said they have changed ownership, but I am not sure if that has effected their product or not. If I was shopping today, I would probably get another one.

Is there a way to turn off the bed lights/side mirror puddle lights/illuminated entry lights which come on when opening a door/unlocking the truck before they turn on? The owners manual explains how they work and how to turn them off after they come on, but I can't find anything about keeping them turned off.

The rear side windows, like back seat side windows, when opening them from the drivers side armrest buttons, is there a setting or something to make them go all the way up or all the way down with one push of the buttons like the front windows do instead of having to hold the button the entire time?

I know you said hard trifold, and I came at you with a soft roll-up. I just think roll-ups are superior in that you can get easy, full use of your bed and most trifolds don’t open all the way (last flip) for highway use🤷🏻‍♂️

For the lights, probably with Alfa if and when they finally figure out how to get it to work with the 2025s..

Sounds like you no longer have the truck that was leaking in the car wash, but do you know which door or which seal was leaking? I've had a 2025 bighorn a little over a month and based on the way the windshield fogged up during a car wash and the mildew type smell it now has in it I'm pretty sure this truck also leaks water but during a quick cursory look I didn't find anything too obvious, and I know the dealer will either say it's operating as designed or they'll say they can't replicate the issue, unless I can show them something super obvious that even a cdjr dealer can't deny.
the water was visible on the left side of the dash, either coming through the door jam or windshield, I was never able to find the exact cause. I did find on my 2nd truck that the E brake cable was not sealed in the firewall. I could see the engine compartment quite easily.

Ok, I was hoping this was a setting that I just couldn't find. I think it's ridiculous that it's not. Is this something I can pay a dealer to reprogram?

I dropped my Rebel at the dealer on Dec 02. 11 days later it was "finished"

Concern 1. Rough running and excessive high idle on cold start, and high idle even when the engine is "warm" (196 coolant and oil temp) upon restarting. 18-071-24 is mentioned and flash # from 68643437AN to 68643437AO. I have not had a chance to test it yet as I just drove home from the dealer and parked it.

Concern 2. The radio just goes silent randomly. no codes found, software up to date, no issue found.

Concern 3. Passenger front window intermittently will not close fully. Window controller DTCB18BA-4B - window control over temp. dealer operated window "excessively" and triggered the condition. I was accused of "over operating" the window and causing the condition. It occurred after rolling down 1 time when it happened to me, I have never ran the window up and down fun.

Concern 4. When front suspension tops out (fully extends) loud clunk is heard, right side noticeably louder. I see it written up as CS going over speedbumps suspension making lots of noise.Dealer diagnosed right REAR shock faulty, leaking and worn. Right rear shock replaced. on my trip home, just crossing through intersections I now have a noise in the right rear under compression that was not there when I brought the truck in.

I was told over the phone that the front strut "pads" were the cause of noise, nothing noted in the work order.

I complained about a lack of power compared to my prior 2025 Rebel, this one is noticeably less powerful/slower under full throttle. I also complained about extremely poor MPG and I drive like a little old lady trying to improve it. It was showing MPG in the 11's around town. nothing at all from dealer on this.

I will be chewing the service managers ear today about the extremely poor wording by the service adviser. I listen and gave great detail on the issues I have been having, and the WO is written so poorly I can see why a tech doesn't solve the issues. I don't see how these people can keep their jobs when they do it so poorly.

I'll report back about the cold start after software after work today.

Did they ever "solve" the suspension concern? I have a 2025 1500 and i am getting a similar noise under compression in the rear of my truck, dealer says suspension is fine and its not spare tire ( its still removed)

You seem really eager to be incredibly stealthy leaving your vehicle at night…
