2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I understand that, but I also believe stellantis/ram is leading the charge when it comes to building new vehicles with serious problems. While I find this entire thread very enlightening and while it would have influenced my decision to not buy stellantis/ram, the second guessing Im doing is more related to the multiple issues the truck i bought has more than this thread, this thread is really just letting me know that many of the issues the truck i bought has are not specific to this truck, and in some cases appear to be quite common.

Also, for as many people that are not running into problems with their rams and that don't post their "satisfaction" here, I bet there are also people who after experiencing multiple or even 1 or2 problems with their new rams simply dump it on someone else or trade it in, without even spending a minute looking on line much less signing up on any forums or posting anywhere about it.

That's true also. To be honest, years ago I use to say I would never buy a Chrysler product. All their stuff was complete junk imo. Then I owned a couple of Fords and they gave me nothing but problems. So when the 4th gen Ram came out, I liked the looks and gave it a shot. I won't lie, purchasing my first Ram made me extremely nervous at the time but in the end it turned out to be a great truck. I have had good luck with my 3 Rams so far, but like with all the American brands, there seems to be many inconsistencies in regards to reliability or quality control. So even though my truck has been great, I can't comfortably tell someone else that they will have the same experience. My advice to you is, if you have lost total confidence in your truck, nothing will probably change that for you at this point. So probably best to move on sooner than later. For me, if I was having issues, I might be willing to jump into another Ram and roll the dice. But for you, it sounds like you most likely want to stay away from the entire Stellantis lineup, at least for now. Hoping for the best outcome for you, whatever you decide.

You can make a gauge widget . With separate screen into two .Nav at top at bottom gauges. Or am i confused cause i can only get gauges to display on 14 screen alone would love to have nav at top gauges at bottom.
I know you can do 1/2 and 1/4 screen gauge widgets for sure. I didn't realize you could do full screen only because I've never tried. But yes, you certainly do nav on top and gauges on bottom.

It’s so hard, well, basically impossible (wrong) to tell if you have a Wednesday pm built vehicle or a Monday am/Friday PM built vehicle. Edit: See page 86 of this thread. A poster found it n the door tag! 👍
Forums are full of peeps posting about issues, rarely do they post that everything is all hunky-dory.

Forums give you lots of good information but they also plant/nurture seeds of doubt. Hard to say what an owner should do.

Me, if I had a (in this case) truck that was already giving me problems, I would not be thrilled with the mid to long term reliability prospects. About all you can do is wait it out, get a factory extended warranty or sell it.

Neighbor had a 2016 bmw sedan. Beautiful paint and interior, trans was fine, electricals were crap. He had bought it from the original owner at 106K. It cost him multi-thousands (like 6K) and he ended up dumping it for a near complete loss. Doesn't mean BMW’s are junk, just some are.

Same neighbor had a 2017 RAM 1500, he traded it off at 145K with no issues at all. It did have the hemi tick (or maybe it was a manifold bolts) but nothing else went wrong. So he’s 1 for 2.

Speaking of that, is it possible to figure out the day a truck was built? Since mine says 12/24 on the door jamb, I have a theory that it was built between chistmas day and new years day, when a good share of people that are stuck at their jobs probably hate it, and often anyone with any knowledge or seniority are off on vacation! :)

Ha ha. Maybe all the low seniority folk got a chance to try and put things together.
“Wheres this go?”
“Dunno, try there…”
“Don’t fit.”
“Get that mallet, it’ll fit.”
“I got all these extra pieces…”
“Ehh, no matter, just send it down the line.”

I couldn't help but notice, the tailgate (the one that opens with the fob but needs manual closing and has a button in the handle to push manually from the back) takes a bit of force or I should say a definite "slamming" type action to get it to latch completely. As in I could not find a way to quietly close it. There are times I'd like to be able to quietly close it, do all the ram tailgates take a bit of quick force/slamming type action to get them to latch completely? Any other truck I have or have had (non-rams) you can push the tailgate up close, then with minor additional pressure it "clicks" into place, no banging needed.

I'm just throwing this out there even though nobody is asking. But I am keeping my truck. I have been extremely pleased with my 2025. Just passed 12k miles. The hurricane motor has been a pleasant surprise. I thought I would be crying over not having a V8, but I was completely wrong. The I6TT drives and pulls the truck around like a big monster motor. No complaints except missing the V8 rumble. Besides the hurricane performing great, everything else about the truck has been great too. No complaints so far. I did have a check engine light that came on early after purchasing, but the dealer told me to just stop in anytime, which I did the same day, and they did some update and had me out the door in 15 minutes. That was the only slight hiccup in an otherwise pleasant ownership experience. This is my 3rd RAM but I am not a brand loyal guy just blowing smoke. I own 5 cars and each one is a different brand. I have had good luck with both of my previous RAM's and the last one was traded in with 207k miles which is more miles than I ever put on any previous car or truck.
Yah. I had the 2019 5.8L Hemi eTorque (first year for the engine) and had teething on that one also. Overall I’m agreeing with this overall post and sentiment.

I have 3600 miles on my 2025. I’ve had the oil changed. The only problem I really have is the fact that the greeting/approach headlights don’t come on, but that seems to be a general software issue.
My dealer will investigate and open a STAR for it, I just haven’t wanted to drop it off.

I have 3.92 Rears and achieved 23.6 mpg on a trip from CT to DC.

It’s a good truck 🤷🏻‍♂️. It’s not perfect, but not a nightmare. Also, my dealer takes care of me, gives me a loaner if it’s more than a day.

I’ll check mine today.

MPG sounds good.
CT to DC, what was your mph? Traffic conditions?

I posted it in a previous post here. Overall, weather was high 50s low 60s. No traffic. Basically kept 7mph over the speed limit (55=62, 65=72). Stopped when I wanted, gunned it every now and then to get around people.

there is a way to tell when built. ALL my mopars have been order they leave paper everywhere showing what time it left the line . I have to look it uo but there is other codes on that sticker that tells you the day. Check back seat pockets sometime there is paper in there. I don't let them take plastic off or clean it so i always get all the papers.

if you don't have auto close yes you have to slam

What? I wasn’t asking a question… plus, I don’t have your fancy Rebel dash😉😂😂
opps for the other guy sorry. Its all i really really like it was the cheapest way to get the tungsten dash level 2 with tech group. Passenger screen is really worthless and takes storage away but looks cool.

I’m able to close it relatively quietly. Can bring it up until it makes contact and give a little shove. I wasn’t in the best position (tailgate over a step downward hill) for a full on test. But certainly not a slam

Thanks for checking, I wonder if there's some sort of adjustment. When I try what sounds to be exactly what you are doing, mine partly latches but not fully, it takes a bang to get it to fully latch.

There could be.
My RamBoxes initially weren’t flush, but I found a procedure (on a STAR report) for adjusting and the dealer performed it. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a tailgate adjustment STAR/TSB out there.

There is a button on the side of the tailgate (drivers side) to close the tailgate. I didn't realize it was there at first. Now I use it all the time.
