Why? The increase is less than the inflation rate for the last 3 years. I just built a 2025 Limited with the same options I have on my 2023 Limited and the price was only 7.49% above the sticker price on my truck. That's only a 3.74% increase per year. The inflation rate for 2021 was 4.7%, 8% for 2022 and 4.1% for 2023. Any company that doesn't at least recover inflation costs is rapidly heading for bankruptcy.
Don't try bringing your MATH in here... @Idahoktm will whip you with barbed wires as he did to me lol!!

It all comes down to supply and demand, if people are willing to pay a certain price then the manufacturers will charge it. If trucks stop selling because prices are to high manufacturers will have no choice but to either lower the prices or get out of the market. Right now people are still paying but supposedly inventories are coming up in some areas. Thier are certain youtubers out their posting the same videos of overflowing truck lots every other day but so far I have not sceen this where I am. Thier is less inventory now then their was before covid or when I bought my truck back in 2019.
Watch what happens on RAM HDs in the next few weeks, and your statement will be decidedly true. Actually, I take that back. Look at the 10% off CURRENT model year RAM HDs that was on for 2 weeks in December, and for 3 weeks in January. That was 100% related to consumer behavior, and it didn't exactly work as planned. In fact back in October Stellantis re-instituted a stairstep program for dealers to incentive movements but that didn't work, so then they tried two small target batches of the 10% rebate. Now we're going to see a new approach in the next week or so that will look a little different, but with the same desired result. Reprice back to what is more in line with consumer demand.

If you can't afford the truck then don't buy it. If you're mad it's too expensive then don't buy it. If you got 30% off MSRP on your truck when you bought it 3 years ago then the new trucks at MSRP are probably going to be expensive to you. Have a great weekend and don't worry about the price of trucks because the sun will still come up tomorrow.....hopefully.

Your pay is your responsibility. Many are already paid far beyond the value of their labor.

Wow, post your employer info here and we can let them know your overpaid.

If the newer vehicles cost alot more than the last few years, (who cares about the actual rate) then the older vehicles values also increase, or drop less in value than the norms for used vehicles. Well, to getting into the weeds of price of vehicles does effect me, even if I chose not to pay the higher vehicle prices. Here in Kentucky we pay a personal property tax per NADA values annually which has effected me because the values don't drop as normal. This has been addressed by the Governor to try to offset that phenomenon by freezing the 2021 values for 2022 values to help, which did not help much now that we are in 2024.

2019 Laramie 4x4 3500 CTD HO SRW $72,000.00 MSRP is now $100,000.00 MSRP at 2024 MY MSRP.

On edit, its a 3500.

Did I forget to mention 3500 SRW CTD HO with auto level air system. I traded it in for my 2020 Ram in signature last year at this time, to help eliminate the tax liability for personal property tax, @ $800.00. Sold the 5th wheel, so no need for a 3500.

Sounds like the issue is with your state laws not Ram Truck prices. Which is unfortunate but that isn’t something that anyone on these forums or Ram can control. Ram will most likely increase their truck prices until people stop buying them, then prices will most likely go back down. I am sorry it affects you in some sense that stinks, but remember the sun will hopefully come out tomorrow. :)

A 2019 Laramie did not cost $72,000, just like a 2024 Laramie didn't cost $100,000...
2019 3500 4x4 Crew 8ft HO $53,800 base + $1695 Destination +$11795 Engine = $67290
2024 3500 4x4 Crew 8ft HO $70,460 base + $1995 Destination +$12595 Engine = $85050
$17,760 difference, 26%

EDIT: That $85050 2024 can currently be ordered for a price of $67,615 . . . sorry I don't have rebate data back for 2019!

That being said, you certainly CAN get a '24 Laramie 3500 up to $100K rather easily, but I would normally suggest if a customer was doing that to go with a Limited for purposes of not building a McMansion in a Raised-Ranch neighborhood.

OK, 2020 1500 4x4 Bighorn in signature. $54,195

2024 1500 4x4 Bighorn on web site. $61,000 Note: No Bighorn level 2 option, which my 2020 was optioned with, so I added another $1,000, Bighorn level B includes 12" radio, which mine doesn't have.

Just posted close to my what 2020 1500 would be today in cost. It seems the HD's are 30% more now than a 2019 HD, and a 2024 1500 is 10% higher than a 2020 1500. FCA must be raising the costs on the HD's more than the 1500's.

LOL! You can't possibly know that, but it sounds like I struck a nerve.

Thanks for supporting my position. Yes, the fact that used vehicles prices have increased by about the same rate as new vehicles clearly indicates it's inflation and not "greed" that is responsible for the price increases.

hmmm...i see on my local dealership has 2025 orders. Cheapest 2025 ram bighorn (v6 engine) they have is listed for $62k. Wow....just wow.

i guess it will sit right next to the 2024 big horn they are trying to sell as well, with rebates of $10k for under $50 that is still sitting there.
