the problem is the led bulb interfering with key fob transmitter which is located right next to the center brake light. You can switch the cargo to led and shouldn't have a problem with your key fob. Some folks use diode dynamics led bulbs in the center brake light and were fine.Has anyone swapped to LED bulbs for the third brake light/cargo light on a 2021 Ram? I have seen a bunch for 2020 rams but they say it won’t work for the 2021
Diode Dynamics and SuperBrightLeds apparently don't cause the interference.the problem is the led bulb interfering with key fob transmitter which is located right next to the center brake light. Has this been confirmed for the 2021 models? My 2019 had the Lasfits with no issue but not sure what to do with my 2021 now.Diode Dynamics and SuperBrightLeds apparently don't cause the interference.
No that isn't confirmed. Me and some other members with 2021 Laramies tried diode dynamics and lastfit bulbs and they caused key fob errors and passive entry buttons wouldn't work.Has this been confirmed for the 2021 models? Thanks! So really our only option is the OEM LED one for $350No that isn't confirmed. Me and some other members with 2021 Laramies tried diode dynamics and lastfit bulbs and they caused key fob errors and passive entry buttons wouldn't work.
Unfortunately if you want a flawless LED install for a 21 Laramie it seems the OEM LED is the way to go. You can install LED bulbs and put ferrite chokes on the wires which reduces interference but this won't make it perfect either. I still go back and fourth on using cheap LED bulbs with ferrite chokes and the OEM LED. Would be really nice if another company started making some aftermarket LED 3rd brake lights for these trucks. Thanks! So really our only option is the OEM LED one for $350
Yeah the OEM does look really good especially with he addition of the rear view screen. May just wait and go that route later. Not sure why we don't have an aftermarket high mount option yet as the trucks been out for 3 years now.Unfortunately if you want a flawless LED install for a 21 Laramie it seems the OEM LED is the way to go. Wow.....it's $350 for a full replacement housing with camera, a red led strip, a white led strip, and it won't affect the key fobs transmission. Way to be a **** about it though.Spending $350 for an led bulb vs incandescent? If you do this you have issues or money to burn.
What are your truck specs? Year and trim level?I just installed the Lasfit RT15 (cargo) and RT15R (3rd brake) LED lights. Thus far I have zero complaints and work in perfect synchronization with the fob, brakes, door sensors. Granted I’ve had them installed for 3 days thus far, but zero complaints. Super bright! Full disclosure, I was sent the lights from Lasfit. If you decide to give them a go, code RAM10M gets you 10% off. I also do not profit from the code. Help that helps and good luck!![]()
