2021 eco diesel gas mileage

So about 90/10 city/highway and my truck average right now is 11.4L/100km or 20.63 USMPG. It’s only getting better. Looking forward to a towing trip in 3 days to see how much better this beast is with my trailer.

Here’s the truck and trailer

2020 Big Horn 3.92.Trip from Chicago to Sevierville TN, 560 miles 30.2 MPG. Started with full tank, almost half left. What do you guys think?
You went to Dollywood, didn't you??

I think it must have been miserable driving all the way to Tennessee at 50 miles per hour.
As you can see on my picture the trip took 9hr 10 min 568 miles, that makes it 62.5 MPH. I made two stops and also hit some heavy traffic at the end. 90% of distance I was going between 68-74 Mph

For those getting over 25 mpg what tires do you have and fuel tank size?
I don't understand how some folks are getting nearly 30 mpg when mine struggles to get 23 mpg.

I have stock night edition 275/55R20 OWL All–Season Tires and 33 gallon tank. Had the same problem in the winter, during a 400 mile trip from Chicago to Mercer Wi in february barely got 23 mpg. It has improved a lot in the summer

I also have 275/55/20 tires and 33 gallon tank. 3.92 and 2wd.
I like to hyper mile my cars/trucks. It’s a game and more fun to me than going fast. 64-72 mph is my average. Just took another trip this time from Dallas to Grand Rapids, MI and averaged 33.7 mpg for 1116 miles.
I run my tires cold at 40psi. I noticed 4/10ths increase over 36 psi cold. I plan to lower it 2/2 front and rear as well.

Here's a year of tracking mine. Includes towing a 14ft enclosed trailer a few times a month plus a couple other heavy tows. This is real world numbers. I have gotten 8l/100km on a few occasions but have never gotten for the entire tank as I have the 33 gallon tank so 1300+ kms highway hasn't happened in the past year

I’m still on my first tank and living what I see. 26 gallon tank mix of 1/3 city & 2/3 highway. Base street 18” tires & 3.92

Falken Wildpeaks that come standard on the 4x4 North package, 26gal tank. This thing just cruises, man. My old 2011 hemi Grand Cherokee would have struggled to get 20 on this trip. (similar tires). Love this diesel.

Fuel mileage varies a lot. An awful lot.
- The worst: in early March, near freezing temps, towing boxxy travel trailer, fully loaded (with water even), 6500 lb travel trailer against 40 mph headwind west across Texas. I was checking every couple of hours, resetting trip meter. Most of this day was with cruise set at 65 mph. Anything slower would have resulted in getting rear ended, as speed limit was 80 mph. 11 to 13 MPG that day.
- Normal towing along I-81 (moderate mountains) it gets 13-15 mpg with that trailer. 55 to 65 mph.
- Best towing: When towing west bound across Kansas, mild tail wind, the mileage was 18 mpg. I'd never seen 18 mpg in 40 years of towing.
- The best: Just me on relatively flat NYS Thruway between Syracuse and Buffalo. Heavy traffic, light rain, no wind. Speed between 50 and 65 mph. 32 mpg over three hours of driving.
- Every day driving around where I live means mostly rural roads, and a little suburban and city driving thrown in: 24 to 27 mpg, depending on load and driver "aggressiveness".

All these numbers are off the truck's computer. I've hand calculated mileage a couple of times and the computer is about half a MPG optimistic. Only one thing I can say for sure.... this truck gets better mileage in any situation than any other mid-size or larger truck or SUV I've ever used or owned.

I couldn't be happier with the performance and mileage of the truck.

With 3.21 axle and stock tires it's very possible. But with 3.92 axle it becomes much much harder to see those numbers, and aftermarket tires pretty much make it impossible.

The best I EVER saw was 29 MPG on a 170ish mile trip at 55 MPH. Once you start to exceed 55 the MPG starts going down rapidly. I will never believe that guys are seeing 30 MPG in a North Edition 4x4 with 3.92 gears out on the interstate at 70+ MPH. Ain't happening.
