2021 air ride leaving kit

I have a 2020 limited with air ride, can I just level the truck with just the spacers ?? Or I still need the links for that, I just wanna level it I don't want to lift it.
You will most definitely need the spacers if you intend to truly level the truck. Stock rake is about 2". You can add at most 3/4" to 1" to the front with the links alone before the ride begins to suffer greatly.
I chose to just bring the front up about 7/8" with the links alone which reduced the overall rake to 1" Truck has a nice stance and even lifting the front just 7/8" makes the whole truck look more like a truck. Throwing on 275/60-r20's to add a finishing touch and make the truck finally look like a 4x4. Will post pics when I get the tires installed.

Good thread & site! My first post guys.

2019 w/air ride. I have front links ordered. I have stock BS Dueler tires (275/55/20) w/28k on them. I intend to do the following and evaluate after each step. If my ride quality is not acceptable I will move on to the next step.

1. Install just the front links to level the truck. About 2" needed. Update - I ended up using just the front links, raised it about 1.25" leaving a rake of about 3/4". See updated pic below. Update:#2 - I backed off the level. Only raised the front end about 3/4" - Buz was right. Ride gets too firm . Update #3 - Took a couple 500 mile trips. The ride deteriorated too much. I could have lived with it but my smooth ride is more important than the level look. Decided to go back to stock - the good news is the bigger tires (275/60/20) don't rub. I will just need to live with the rake.

2. Install rear links, I read that combining the front & rear links to achieve level will improve ride quality if the fronts only cause ride issues. Did not buy or install - not needed IMHO.

3. Install 275/60/20 Michelin LTX's - Helped the ride quality on my previous truck (2014 Ram 1500) immensely. Will consider Cooper 4S as well.
I would like 275/65/20 but way overkill for me. I don't tow, no snow, don't off road, expensive & might take an MPG hit. Ended up buying the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S - see pic below. Total net price after $70 rebate was $864 for the set. Not sure about the MPG yet but will update in a few weeks. I probably didn't need to get it aligned ($90) but I did.
The only downside is my steering wheel is not at 12 o' clock. . More like 1:30? Drives straight. Not sure if/how to get the wheel back to 12 o' clock?

4. Add Daystar kit if needed. Not needed IMHO.

Will post my progress and pics as I go through the process. Might take several weeks. Unlike most of my projects I got this done quicker than planned. I am very happy with the results.

My goals;

*Level- Looks level to the naked eye. Still has about 1/2-3/4" rake if you measure.
*Fill the wheel well a little- Check
*Improve the stance- Check. Truck looks sportier/more nimble. Not so "bloated" and low.
*Don't degrade the amazing ride quality- Check - it did change the ride, not degrade it. Slightly firmer up front, less body roll. Like having Bilsteins up front.

Bonus that I was not expecting.....AERO mode works great w/the new tires and provides a great cushy soft ride when I want it.

Any and all input/suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance. I appreciate the previous posts on this thread as well. Very helpful.

BEFORE Pic w/OEM 275/55/20 Bridgestones- normal mode.

AFTER PIC - Normal Mode w/links and New 275/60/20 Coopers............I also blacked out the running boards.

You can use just the spacers. I didn’t even install my rear links

You’ll still need the front links. The stock links are non adjustable and adding the spacers require you to change the link length so the truck believes it’s at the same height making all settings function normally.
Hey db252 I ordered almost the exact same truck on 12-22-20, just found out today it will be here in 10 days.

Awesome. Send me a pic via PM when you get. Mine is delivered to our door this fri/sat and then on with the leveling.

Finally got mine finished yesterday. Ended up adding the pucks to the front along with the links in the front & rear. Rides nice & smooth now!!

When you say pucks are you referring to the Daystar spacers?

Forgot to ask how difficult was it?

Yes sorry the Daystar spacers & links. Actually I had a truck accessories shop here in town do it. It took them 2 days to get everything level & to check the alignment.

I should buy the rears from you. I want to level by lowering the rear since I'm going for a lowered look.

My truck is on order I have the Daystar spacers and links for lifting the front and lowering the rear. I also got the Mopar upper control arms from their 2" lift kit, the upper ball joint has a greater angle of movement so no binding at full droop, "supposedly". Changing anyways since their about $125 for the pair and the suspension is torn apart anyway. I ordered the ORD package, the plan is 1" lift in front 1/2" drop in rear to level it out and Nitto Teragrappler 275/65R20 should be 34.1" tall. It's an old man's lift :)!

I’m looking forward to diving into this. I too bought the 2” lift UCA’s to put on as well. Truck is supposed the be delivered to our house tomorrow or Saturday (looks like Saturday based on tracking the truck) and I will start the job this upcoming week. I’ll take pics and document it. In reference, Daystar pucks, Revel front links only and the UCA’s I mentioned.

I just did Daystar spacers + Links (front only) on my 21 Limited w/ORP. Added 20x9 Fuel Rebel 6 and 295/60r20 Ridge Grapplers. Rides like a dream.

Next is the Hellwig & Alfaobd to fix speedo offset

Which Daystar Spacer set up are you guys using?
Check out this thread that has links to the pucks and will answer most of your questions.

I installed my leveling links on my 2019 Laramie w/air ride! Did just the fronts, links made by Edgy Mods. Came to several conclusions;

1. No reason to be ultra exact as there are too many variables. Will drive you nuts trying to get everything to match. The variables - Level ground, tire pressure, air ride pressure, load balance, fuel in tank, wind speed 😂, etc.

2. I raised the front 1.5" on the driver's side and 1.625" on the passenger side. The two sides did not match when I started...and still don't exactly.

3. Adjusted the driver's link to 2.25" and the passenger 2.375". This is measured center of the eye to the center of the eye.

4. I still have a 1/4"-1/2" rake depending on when/where I measure (think the variable's listed in #1). It changes almost every time I measure. Can't tell it still has rake without measuring.

5. I was very concerned about the change in ride quality but the ride actually got better IMHO. Reminds me of when I owned my 2014 and switched to Bilsteins 5100's. Was a little firmer up front but less roll in the corners. Still rides nice.

6. I did lose OR-2 but the rest of the levels are fine. I never used 0R1 or OR 2 anyhow.

7. I am still on the stock tires (275/55/20) but plan to get 275/60/20 later this week. I will wait to get an alignment after I get the new tires.

8. If the ride is still good after the new tires I don't see a need to get spacers.

9. My understanding is my OEM UCA's are the heavier/better ones so I don't think a change is needed - can anyone confirm this? I am not real sure of what I am talking about..as usual. Truck seems to handle fine, no rubbing sounds.

10. The links were very simple to install. Getting the OEM ones off was a little nerve racking because I wanted to be careful not to break anything. What ended up helping was using an 8mm open end wrench to gently pry the OEM links off.

Will update as I make progress.
