Did you clean the paint off of your studs when installing the side steps..?
not with like a wire brush no, but i did put some lube on them and worked them back n forth on because it said the threads may get full of paint.. only 1 broke out of all them i think i just got 1 bad mount screw on the ol truck tbh it wasnt hard to thread or fighting like cross threaded or anything

Yeah when I put mine on I just ran a wire brush attachment over them in my drill. I was able to notice a big difference before and after removing the paint. Hopefully you can get that fixed up

just startin to rain again folded up the shop for the day. but got a lot done.

frontal mud flaps:

20210124_111838.jpg

tbh the OEM finish on these RAM mud flaps are not as good as the plasticote looney toons ones. . .they left the inside raw fiberglass, where the siggity sam ones are coated both sides.

heres how i attached them in case anyone was wondering

20210124_113906.jpg
on all 4 corners i undid the stock trim piece and marked the holes out onto the flap. then drilled the holes. I also ran a bolt and lock nut thru the whole thing as extra.

undo 2 8mms at the front wheelwell, pull one plasti tab christmas tree tabber, then from underside smack it towards you horizontally and it will pop off the 2 little plasti slidey tabby things.

also today wew lad:

curt 7 pin with 5 pin flat output adapter harness thing to get hold of the reverse lights and whatever else i add later
20210124_121904.jpg the stock 7 pin harness, removed from the plug at bumper. note the tabs you have to mush to make it let go. wiggle it. just a little bit. the piece stays in the bumper this just clicks on there. so unclick the tabs and wiggle it and pull it off there.

then slap in the curt harness where you just pulled that piece loose
20210124_122019.jpg

then take the other end of the curt adapto harness and plug it in to the stock harness what you removed a minute ago

20210124_122045.jpg

and you are connected. tie up all your wires all nice and pretty.

so i did the curt harness adapto so i could get some reverse lights on the south end. cant see anything, and once i get some decent window tint its over.

so i got a hitch bracket and some nilights and some wires and terminals and misc:

had to bend the chineseium mount top piece to fit over the square of the hitch, but once it was tightened down it lined up well, and is super snug to the square. i pulled it all the way rearward as close as it would slide and there is room for the hitch lock and hooks and etc

20210124_124953.jpg

mounted the lights on the thing and ran the wires to the underside. it wasnt as clean trying topside, but down here may not be as safe from rocks and branches.

put some terminals male female spades on the blue+ and white- coming off the 5 pin flat curt harness, and plugged em in blue<>red (+) and black<>white (-).
zip tied all the wires up underneath

chocked the wheel, threw it in reverse, opened the door to go look

...

and it went into autopark mode.
bah

so i dont have an operational picture yet.

On my 1970 Baja Bug I had four KC Daylighters to play that game.
385,000 Candlepower each. They would light up the road like it was
still Daylight.
