Anyone notice that A LOT of the 2020s being delivered or on lots have the sunroof option...the two or three dealers in my area generally offered few of these especially in Big Horns. I'm wary of that options due to the added heat into the cabin and leak issues.
Seem to remember issues with other makes/models resulting from differences in plant QC/leadership as well as parts/batch sourcing being tracked to certain runs....complicated sh*t to sum up neatly.
If you're buying used...brand loyalty should be based on solid models/years not some idea that a manufacturer has made all sh*t for years....come on.
New...best advice is to wait out the first year or two.
Wonder how brittle the plastic might become and you may have to add a swivel base since reviews at ProClips mention the phone is not at a great angle for glancing at it. Not to mention it's around 75 for the mount and base but I do like it's not on window in direct sunlight and still catches...
I've had two FULL bedrugs for the last twenty years in my GMC and Chevy trucks. VERY durable, cleans easily, and looks good.
I often vacuum out pet hair, duff, and dirt with no problem (or hose soak with bed tilted towards weep hole when DIRTY).
Things slide if smooth so you'll have to solve...
In my experience...you'll get the stack that they want to give...whether that contradicts anything previous is often disregarded. Consider incentives (outside of the loan) to be at their discretion and are not just based on whether you qualify for them or not.
You can tell the infrastructure is gradually morphing towards smaller when you drive your truck inside those ever shrinking lanes on freeways and or back up with a six point turn to get out of your parking spot.
The future is...uh...WTF. I'm having a hard time imagining a world full of self driving cars with software full of bugs, connectivity dropouts, electrical/sensor malfunctions, and Chinese made parts....good luck with your insurance adjuster (or doctor) when HAL interferes.
Meanwhile back to...
I am skeptical too for a couple reasons:
1. Measuring tread depth is janky at best (uneven wear, method?, inflation)
2. I've had 4 sets on 3 different trucks and got 40+k from all of them with on/off road use (generally 38-40 psi)
3. The length of time that passes, IMHO, always seems much...
True...but you aren't considering that there will be a positive effect by buying late into the model year because your truck will have accumulated little/no mileage in it's first year which pays you back when you sell it with lower mileage per year.
