Ideally that is true. But the motor is not applying its force to something static. It turns when more as truck moves. If there is a defect in either the belt or the tensioner on that belt, you’ll more likely see it when it’s more difficult to turn the motor and move the truck than when it’s...
I think the belt should be able to take the output of the etorque motor and apply it to the snout too. But if it’s shredding then that’s clearly not happening. If there is an issue with the amount of tension or slip on the belt, you might be more likely to see it when there’s a load on the...
I see the value of having these features from the factory, but there are legitimate, usually work or off-reading purposes for doing some of the things I mentioned. I think they ought to be easier to turn off.
That said, in reply to the above: When I was a kid I remember my parents constantly...
Hey guys,
Overall I really like my ram. But man, is it just ram or do all new trucks have such intense nanny features on them?! Seems overkill sometimes. I have done some reading and I have seen some strategies to get rid of some of these but not all. Do you guys hate these as much as I...
This is it 💯. I grew up in MI too, and most of the vehicles my family owned were not 4wd. I always chuckle at people showing some picture where there is an inch of snow on the ground and saying “oh man so glad I have my 4wd today!” I used to plow my 2wd cars through snow up to the bumper and...
Hi all,
Have the ram in my sig. about 22k miles.
I haven’t been driving it as much lately and it has been idle in the garage for maybe 2 weeks. I fired it up the other day to drive it, and noticed a rally distinct ticking coming dr the motor. Maybe drivers side. Lasted a good bit of time...
From your powerpoint it appears to be this: Voltage set point 13.3V-14.7V depending on temperature. 3000W No system deration constraints 1850W Extreme hot continuous idle generation
So the lower number, 1850 which I think is fair for just idle generation would be 154 amps at 12 volts...
Hi all,
Quick question: what is the amp output from the etorque system? A typical car alternator is 100-200 amps at 12 volts. WHat is the output of this system? Wondering about running an inverter.
Thanks!
Out of curiosity what is the preferred battery type to switch to? Interstate? I see people are talking about H8 (I think the factory battery is h7). I am also considering lithium ion, wonder if anybody could recommend a brand.
It really seems like some of these batteries are just worse than others.
Got the truck back from the dealer they said it had codes, they cleared them, tested the battery every thing is fine. Wow. I’ll just get a real battery. Awful.
Well, I will probably let the dealer look at it and if they replace the battery, fine. I guess it could be the ground but I think that would have been an issue from the start, not sure why it would show up just now. Probably worth cleaning it anyway. If they replace the battery I may ask them...
Hi guys,
22 Laramie like in my signature. I am approaching 15/16 months of ownership, about 20k miles on it. Been decent the whole time I have owned it. I have no aftermarket electronics anywhere in the vehicle.
Went on a trip with the family and parked the car in a budget airport lot...
It’s one of the most annoying features I have ever had on any vehicle. Why can’t it just work like every other keyless vehicle and state on the dash that the key has left the vehicle?
I thought something was up when I saw a thread about washer fluid and there was 52 replies! Hey, here’s to 52 more cheers 🍻.
That said, I have used the cheapest blue stuff I could find in every car I have ever owned for as long as I have owned them, also in the northern most states in winter...
