What pressure should I inflate to when running fully loaded (highway driving at or above max vehicle weight). My Laramie came with Falken WildPeak AT 3wa LT 275/6518. Noticeable tire bulge when inflated to the recommended 38 psi. Reading the forum seems like some are running at 50psi or more...
Thanks for the replies; I have a 2020 Laramie with 8.4" Uconnect 4. On the UC4 and there is not a setting for Auto ON/OFF Radio that I have been able to find. So another dumb question can I upgrade the firmware on the UC from 4 to 5?
Would love to no have the radio blaring every time I start my truck. Is there a default volume setting or way to disable the radio auto on function?
Apologies if this is a dump question, but have not been able to figure this out on my own.
Anyone know if there is an App that helps you find a missing key FOB. I assume the FOB transmits a signal (how else would the car know the FOB was in the car when starting) so hoping there might be an app that helps to track that signal to find the FOB. Even knowing if the key is hiding in the...
yes, load in just in the bed.
Route options are I-8 and cross at Mexicali or cross at Tecate and 2D to Mexicali; either way that puts you on 5 for the drive south through San Felipe. Driving time is about the same according to Google map. Tecate is supposed to be a less busy port of entry than...
Heading down to Baja and friends suggest we take Hwy 2D from Tecate to Mexicali. Supposed to be a beautiful drive but looking on the map noticed a section with lots of switchbacks. I profiled the route and see it looses about 4K in elevation in 15 miles with grades as high as 18%. The truck is...
Moving as much weight forward into the crew cab area helped. I had about 3/4" above the stops and did not feel like the rear end was riding low. There is a lot of cargo room with the rear seats folded up!
Happy to report that I made the +1100 mile trip down the Baja at about 7900# (guestimate based on dump scale) no problem. The truck performed great, handled well, nice ride, and plenty of power. Even had a 10mile stretch where I had to put it in 4WL to get around a blocked section of road...
yea, too close for comfort....
How do those guys with the campers on back do it? The campers alone weight 1000-1500# and then all the gear. They must be pushing the limits all the time....
7920# per the scale at the dump. I don't notice the weight at all driving and if I am hitting the stops on bumps.
A friend suggested installing rear suspension enhancement springs with a 8600# rating. Seems like this might improve the ride but not really addressing the fact I am putting too...
Hoping not....
Once I get the total GVWR I will estimate front /rear using the ratio you suggested. I don't want bad things to happen on a 1000m drive down the baja .... I have tried to move weight forward in the bed and using the crew cab area as cargo space.
Again , really appreciate the...
I am a new truck owner and the whole payload thing is confusing. The GRVW is 7100#; the sum of front and rear axle max weight 8000# and the curb weight is 5160#. So in theory I can load ~1900# and be below the GRVW with 900# margin before hitting the max axle load. Seems like I should be...
Thanks; No CAT scales near me but the local dump has a scale so will swing by and weigh it tomorrow. That will give me a total weight but not the weight on the rear axle which if I am understanding correctly should be <4100#. Is there a rule of thumb to estimate how much of the total weight is...
Yup cap (200#) , running boards (50#), Kayak (50#), 6 plastic totes full of gear (500#), coolers, people (350#), surfboards, it all adds up. my guess around 1500#
thanks; its only a guess 1200-1500# gear, canopy, passengers. No doubt I am close to or over the rated payload but the question is how much of a safety factor is there before something breaks... I have had friends say they have loaded there pickups to the point there headlights are point so...
I have 2020 laramie Crew Cab 4WD , crew cab off road package (beefer shocks and tires). I have it loaded for a trip from LA to Cabo with kayaks, surfboards, sports equipment, household items, misc. Noticeably riding lower than when empty. I am not on the orange bumper stocks yet, but...
