Was 15 MPG the actual mpg indicated? Or are you just assuming a mileage? The range estimate adjusts to the current mpg, so if you were actually getting 10-11 MPG at the time the estimate would make sense

Just a reminder to everyone that the proper gear lube is dependent on your differential. 3.21/3.55 diffs use 75W-90, while 3.92 differentials use 75W-140. Both require additive/ friction modifier if you have the limited slip.
