Anyone regret going back to highway terrain?

Who has regrets going back to a highway terrain tire? I'm leaning towards 275/70r18 Control Terraincontact H/T. I'm coming off of the Wildpeaks AT3W which are awesome and look aggressive, but now loud and wide and I'm mainly a highway queen. With all that said, going back to a smooth sidewall...

    LT285/75R18 on 2020 RAM 1500

@Jack. Did you end up getting the terrain contact in 18rim? That's the exact set up I'm debating, but coming from the aggressive and wide Wildpeaks, I am curious about the finished look.

    Tread width vs tire width

This all makes sense. I've been researching to see what width the treaday end up being, but I'm guessing there's likely only an inch or so difference on the treads so maybe I'm putting too much stock in tread width... Could consider going down in width on the actual tire size, but that's less...

    Tread width vs tire width

I'm back to shopping for tires. I've got 52k+ on my Falken Wildpeaks AT3W (not the OEM version) E rated for towing. I had upgraded the size to 275/75 r18. What I DON'T like about them is how wide they seem to be vs the original 275/65 r18 which was a road tire, so maybe that's the difference...

    Different/Larger tires

You can. I went from 275/65 to 275/70 and will do it again. I don't want more width on the tire than stock which is 275. Your aspect ratio (width to height) is the 65, so if you increase it to 70 you'll have a larger circumference tire. Just going up one size doesn't need a lift. Keep in...

    Autopark seatbelt airbag chimes

Progress! It started yesterday with tons of frustration trying to use jumpers around the connectors to see if one was loose. Wires kept falling out. Later in the day I realized when I pull my cheeks off the seat, I was causing the AutoStart/Stop malfunction. Seemed weird because that's not...

    Hellwig? Hell, yeah!

Don't be discouraged. That was might initial thoughts after doing a quick test. But driving the same roads as you do every day, you'll likely notice a difference in corning and highways. Remove it after some time and you'll definitely notice the difference.

    Autopark seatbelt airbag chimes

Super helpful! I couldn't figure out the color initials originally for whatever reason. I focused on making solid contact with the two reds and the black at the terminals by pulling them out individually and crimping the connector to make sure it was a tight connection before putting them back...

    Autopark seatbelt airbag chimes

On my truck I've always fought a loose connection under the seat, I just don't know which connector. First, I'd get the autostart/stop message appear. Then randomly the airbag/seatbelt chime would go off. It was intermittent, so I'd fumble some wires under the seat and I'd be good for another...

    Hellwig? Hell, yeah!

I wanted to update my Hellwig Hell Yeah experience. I thought I was getting rid of the truck so I pulled the Hellwig and went back to stock. It felt dangerous driving on Indiana tar chip country roads. It reminded me of the old 60's oversized cars that floated everywhere. Back to the tightest...

Ram tailgate won't open all the way with travel trailer

Using the Equalizer WDH extended mine far enough that I can open the tailgate. They can commonly be had (around here) on the used market for under $200.

    Trailer brake software update

I think for most it tends to happen around 10mph... I always assumed it was too prevent locking up the trailer brakes like the old school controllers could do pretty easily. If yours is under 20 mph, it might have an issue. From my own testing, I think it technically still works at the low...

Multiple issues with my 2019 Ram 1500

My start/stop would become unavailable if my seatbelt connections are loose under the seat. I have a problem connection that occurs every 1-3 months so I have to fiddle with the connection under the seat to make sure it's making good contact. I've also had manifold bolts break (and it doesn't...

    Tow/haul mode always when towing?

I pretty much always use it with the travel trailer that's about the same weight. With that said, I don't really notice a difference of I forget to turn it on our not. If I'm towing a utility trailer trailer, I don't use it until I start to get a reasonable amount of weight. Then it actually...

Broken manifold bolts and leaky cylinder

Within the last two thousand miles I decided to have the exhaust manifold bolts fixed as I was nearing the 60,000 mile warranty. It was pretty bad, though they never told me how many were broken. It was multiple, on both sides. I did an oil change at 59,640 and had what I've found to be...

Does anyone carry a jumpstart pack?

My wife and I both carry one as of this past winter. Her original 2019 battery died when we were out of town. My battery died the previous year, left me up the creek without a paddle. Then the new one died this past year... Obviously warrantied, but that doesn't help if you can't get to the...

Galaxy S22 doesn't pair to uconnect

@PMantle I don't remember exactly. I think you: Press and hold power button and tune button for 30 seconds with the car running but parked. It should restart. You'll exit the vehicle and close the door. Wait a few minutes then get back in. Maybe. You can call UConnect directly. They were...

Galaxy S22 doesn't pair to uconnect

Thanks for all the input in trying to troubleshoot. It was exactly the same time as I switched phones that I started having these issues, but the dealer confirmed today that there's a defect in the radio unit. There's not a piece of software that can fix it so I'm staring at $12xx to replace it...

Galaxy S22 doesn't pair to uconnect

Well, it was a short lived experiment. By 9am Monday I had a confident answer that it's the head unit. I have an appointment with the dealer 1/30 to see what they can do.
