In theory it should validate checksums before starting the update but they've proved time and time again that they sub-optimal coding practices. In any case, we are going to keep hunting down the the firmware when it comes out. The 160 firmware for the UC5 8.4 non-nav probably took us almost two...
The scary part is that it means the the firmware is even worse than we thought. The firmware should be checking conditions to verify that it's valid for the radio that is attempting the install. If it's not doing that then UConnect has worse coding practices than under grad CSE students.
You don't have to buy any of it. We have the files that were used for the update sourced from the dealer and sourced from someone I know that works on UConnect. How do you know you didn't get the 16gig transfer for the OTA? They only published one image of the update it was 19gigs. Just because...
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I (along with a couple other members) probably have more knowledge about these radios than about 99% of people, including dealers and techs. I was one of the first people to add blind spot monitoring to the 4th gen trucks and still the only one...
Again, not modified, pulled directly from the UConnect dealer portal. That would be the same update that gets pushed to all radios over OTA. Maps are a separate download because when I applied that update, my maps did not update with it. So while that update may have had the maps as part of the...
I really doubt it's the size, the MY22.S26.17 update was 19gigs and some people got it via OTA. It's mostly broken methodology of doing updates on their end. They are either way to conservative on the roll outs where some people are already seeing the latest version rolling out while others...
The fault sense circuit is pretty simple. Basically whenever the turn signals flashes, it pulls the fault sense line to ground. Not sure what voltage you're going to see on it but I wouldn't expect it to be very high.
Both going out at the same time is also extremely unlikely. Are you sure you...
Well that's exactly it, there was a time in the RA4 days when we could go to to the UConnect website and download the updates ourselves. Then they started pushing OTAs that never really worked well through end of RA4, UC4 and still don't completely work on UC5. If they don't want to people...
@RamCares If you don't want people looking for and sharing updates on the forums then make them easily available. The OTA process is broken at best with some people getting timely updates and others never seeing any. The dealer is also hit and miss on being able to get updates and in many cases...
I'll have to check about putting in the bottom row but I replace the Alexa icon with the surround view button on mine. Drag down from the top of the screen then you will be able to edit your shortcuts.
I only messed with it for 10 minutes but nothing obvious is broken. Whether that holds up or not is still to be determined. Either way, it's major step up from the disastrous T25.48 update.
Installed T27.46, all seems to be working still. Outside of a couple minor UI changes, nothing really new. No full screen android auto.
Nothing broke though so I will call that a win.
I think that's pretty much expected. The dealer won't be able to do anything until UConnect publishes an update to fix this stuff. It would have made sense to actually validate the update before pushing it out to everyone but seems like UConnect would rather make the owners be the beta testers.
Pretty incredible that @Jimmy07, one of our other friends, and I discovered the menus/settings and camera soft key issues when we did the update manually months ago and UConnect didn't find them. We were 3/3 on camera soft keys and 2/3 on the menus. We figured out pretty quickly that a factory...
For anyone that lost menus / apps, switch to a different user profile. Then you can either recreate your original user profile or do a factory reset of the radio.
