There’s no question my 5.0 was quicker. All the way around. Don’t get me wrong, this one has plenty of power I just miss the ol rocket my 5.0 was and the better gas Mileage.
Not yet. I’ve been with them for 10 years. They have the best rates when I shopped around 3 months ago. When I was looking at all brands the F150 was always the cheapest to insure. Silverado was around $15/month more. But this Ram being $60/month more?? That’s just crazy.
Anyone here coming from another brand to their 2019? It’s costibg me $60/month more to insure this Ram than it did my f150. Even though this has far more safety features. My mind is really blown at this. I’m not understanding why this is. Anyone else have something similar to this?
Nah. I really do like this truck better overall. But I do definitely miss the 5.0. That’s just a sweet engine that really is better than the Hemi all the way around. I miss the get up and go it had for sure.
I don’t care what amagazine or anything says. The two trucks are nowhere close in mpg’s or overall speed and acceleration. It’s very different and even my kids noticed it. Towing my duck boat the f150 would average right around 17-17.5. My new Ram got 15.2 on Sunday on the same trip I always...
I’m well aware of the variables. My f150 had 3.55 gears and Nitto g2 tires. Same time of the year, both crew cabs. Obviously the Ford was lighter as the Rams are absolute pigs compared to Ford and GM. My Ram has the 3.21 gears and stock highway tires. My Ram has just under 4K miles on it.
Took the same trip that my 5.0 f150 got over 25 mpg on today. I kept the cruise at 60. My 19 Laramie truck averaged 21.9. Wtf? 4 years newer and can’t come close to the mpg’s of the 5.0 and it’s slower. Crazy.
I’m used to an ice cold AC coming from my F150. In this new truck I’ve never once felt cold or that I had to turn it down. It just doesn’t get cold like I would like. My 2015 Ram would get super cold. Lots of little quirks to these ‘19’s.
I never thought about getting the Nav radio because to me it was pointless. With CarPlay now it’s simply not needed. I had no idea Ram went cheap on the non Nav radio though.
My dealer said only on the Nav radios and 12”. I told him that’s kind of ridiculous considering that the 2015 models could change the theme. Who knows. Oh well I guess.
All I have to compare is my 2015 vs my 2019 Ram. Same daily drive and the f150 with the 5.0 was significantly more efficient and as far as get up and go the 5.0 was much quicker. It just felt really light on its feet. Put that sucker in sport mode and it was a rocket to drive.
Eco is stupid. The 5.0 in the f150 gets far better mpg, sounds better, definitely quicker and doesn’t use the eco crap. It just doesnt make much sense why a brand new truck with this technology can’t get better mileage. The Rams are still way heavier than both GM and Ford I believe. I’m sure...
