Wow, ok, 20mpg with that trailer definitely impressive.
I'm not sure, as I said above, that it adds up financially, but it does sound like it is very likely a bit more "relaxed" experience with the ED and towing. Just kinda works, less shifting, less revving. That is a positive for sure.
I'm definitely working to find a truck, HEMI or ED, that has this feature.... I could make it work without but I hear this recommended for towing so often.
Great feedback, appreciate you taking the time. Sounds very similar to me, and I also just have no need or really desire to go to a 3/4 ton truck either.
The real-world MPG is helpful as well. looks like you're getting about 40% better MPG with the diesel. I watched Alex on Autos lengthy...
Appreciate the reply, but I suspect that is not correct regarding the rear dump. It is mentioned on basically every seating option, including as standard on the Tradesman. My understanding is that the Tradesman doesn't have a reclining rear seat.
Maybe you're onto something though... could it...
Been upping my truck knowledge and slowly shopping. I think I know my must haves and my nice to haves (Big Horn Level 2 or Laramie) and all that jazz.
One thing I had not considered AT ALL was the EcoDiesel. I had pretty much decided on the HEMI, preferably with e-Torque. Need to tow about...
Going through the 2021 buyers guide and under Interior Features and showing all the different seating options and corresponding trim levels and packages, many trim levels on the rear seat mention "manual dump feature". I actually think maybe all rear seats have this.
Looking online, running a...
What I'd like to find is similar to the info you can find for the F150, which is an extremely long PDF document that shows you the standard features of each trim level, then within that trim level it shows you all available options packages and what is included, and then after that it shows you...
Did some forum searching and came up empty... also not getting anywhere on google
Does RAM have PDF order guides like you can find for the F150? Could really use this to be sure I find the correctly optioned used truck.
Hoping RAM does have it and I just came up empty when looking.
Follow up to the above.... I realized after making this thread that my understanding of the cargo trailer width is only partially correct.
The trailer width is 96" / 8' 0" wheel-to-wheel. But this is the type of cargo trailer where the wheels are the widest part and extend out past the main...
Thanks for the head's up. The capacities should be more than sufficient as it will really just be me in the truck, and I'm looking at I think max 5000lbs for the trailer. But keeping my eyes on payload too while truck shopping.
Thanks for the info on the mirror width!
New to towing, and truck shopping. While I'm sure towing mirrors would be beneficial overall, I'm really wondering if they're truly necessary for my situation. Harder to find used trucks equipped with tow mirrors, but also I must have power folding function to fit in my garage.
So my question...
Looking for a used truck. 2019+ for certain. I'm now looking more specifically at 2021+ trying to find power fold towing mirrors possibly (I undersand not available in 2019 and 2020).
With that said, I know RAM has had production issues. I think even building in late 2022 they are removing...
I'm looking for a truck to pull a tandem axle 6x10 or 6x12 trailer. Likely 4000-5000lbs but maximum trailer is 7000 (I doubt I will EVER see that weight). This will be multiple days a week, not just a few times a year or anything.
I had decided on a RAM but rented the shortest overall model...
Ram shopper here. Had a 2022 rental a week ago as a trial on the truck. Lots of snow so far this winter where I live.
Played around with the 4wd settings. 2wd the truck would get a bit squirrelly on me (I noticed the tires were not good for snow, so I’m sure that didn’t help), much worse than...
