biggest joke of a gimmick in the history of gimmicks....I have one, it does nothing to help with mileage...kind of like the lowering to "Aero" level at speed....ok, so you go from 14.7 miles a gallon average, to 14.6.....WHOOPIE!!
never HAD to do this, but it is perfectly ok to do it, and if you do 50-50, you will in fact get 89 oct. It's what actually takes place in the underground tanks when you pump 89.
listen...do yourself a favor, just get the Harbor freight hose clamp set, and put a clamp on the output hose like many have done. I know, I know...shouldn't have to do it on a $50-$60K vehicle, but I did like the others, and now all is right in my world. You don't have to completely clamp shut...
yes, exact same thing, happened twice....each time, I pulled out the PC harness, reconnected oem, and cleared codes. Codes, warning messages, and lights all stayed off. Everything back to normal.
just to be clear, I NEVER changed settings while driving. I have a theory that what causes the conflict has something to do with the putting the vehicle in "Tow/Haul" mode, and running a PC at the same time. The first time it happened was a little scary, it was in the middle of a cross country...
Been running a Pedal Commander for about 2 years, second time it caused interference with ECM/BCM on the truck. Symptoms are, fire up truck, Check engine light comes on, along with messages, sercive throttle control, no park sense available, blah blah blah....get home, disconnect Pedal...
if I'm lucky enough to get into heaven...all I ask for eternity is that people spell lose & brake correctly....otherwise just send me to hell with the rest of the non-spellers...
this vehicle has not even been torn down yet!!!! hidden damage will be your nightmare, every little thing that the appraiser couldn't see, or didn't write...might need a full wiring harness, have fun with that. Boron steel will become a thing of hate. in your world...(seriously, just get rid of...
as a retired appraiser, for a major insurance carrier, and also having worked as a writer in big time shops back east, and a school trained mechanic...I have one thing to say...you're NUTS!!!
in or out...just promise this "Old fart" not to put those damn extra wide wheels on that stick out like Rosie O'Donell's love-handles....man I hate those... :p
like others have said...ANYTHING mechanical can detonate. If I were you...I would be thanking the good lord sweet baby Jesus, that it happened in warranty...and the company is honoring it. Go on a BMW forum, and you'll see $130,000 vehicles falling apart left & right...good luck..
well...I'm a retired insuance adjuster, so for what it's worth , here goes. First off, the truck IS totaled. Engine is hydro locked, and no carrier wants to deal with that. As far as the wheels? If you want them, just take them off, and put stock set up back on, they add no value to the ins co...
