I've read that the interval is supposedly driven by some "intelligent algorithm" that takes into consideration several factors including the amount of power used, oil type, presence of alcohol in the fuel, speeds, etc.. most of my driving is 70 mph freeway under cruise control with me as the...
Mine currently appears to be based on a 10K mileage interval.. I prefer to change my oil every 5K miles..
I know how to reset it, but does anyone know how to change the interval so it starts nagging when it's approaching 5K?
ya ya ya.. I know I can just change it when it says 50%,, but...
My wife got her Grand Cherokee w/Hemi from her sister when it had 60K on it.. it ticked (quietly). I thought it was just her sister's poor maintenance.
I got my Ram 3 months ago w/Hemi.. same exact noise.
Wife has 240K miles on it now.. same tick.
mine makes that noise once in awhile.. it's not loud just bugged me until I found what it was - the ANC. it only happens when in ECO mode and when slowing... switching to tow/haul turns off ECO mode and the noise. you can try that to see if your noise is from the ANC.
I Drove Dakotas for 30+ years, went through 3 of them. Now wanting to replace the 3rd one, they stopped making them so, moved up to a half ton. Last 2 dakotas had the 4.7L V8. New 1500 has the 5.7 and guess what? the mileage is BETTER and exactly what the sticker said it would be. It tows...
I'll +1 this all day long. I waited and looked until I found the perfect truck for me and since it was the 2nd week in December, the dealer couldn't get it off the lot fast enough :)
I actually paid LESS than I paid for a new 2000 dakota! 20 years later (almost to the day) and I paid less for...
so, Ram deleted remote start as an available option? or is it that the dealer doesnt have an after-delivery addon kit from RAM? Glad I got my 2019 when I did. I use the remote start almost every weekday when I go to work..
2019 5.7l BigHorn 6400 miles as I'm decelerating foot-off throttle I often hear what sounds like a resonance in the exhaust system start quietly and increase in volume until the tranny downshifts, and it starts all over again until the next downshift... any braking or throttle application...
my boss has an X - thinks Musk is God. bragged about it's towing numbers but up until last month only used the hitch to mount his bike carrier.
Then, he rents a small uhaul to help his brother moved 90 miles.
Consumed so much battery he had to recharge to get home, and had to drive around...
I'll be doing exactly that next week when I get back to Joshua Tree.. we only have one dealer service center in the area but it's a Chrysler dealer so, it's all good :)
I'm impressed though, for all the goodies this truck has, the wheel heat is the only thing that isn't working.
Thanks.
I'm getting 15-16 with mixed street/highway driving.. solid 18 freeway cruising with cruise control on. 3.92 2WD about the same as my 2007 dakota with the 4.7 Towing my trailer drops it 2-3 but MAN is it a great towing rig! (factory tow package, love the brake controller)
my wife inherited a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in 2005 almost new.. has 240K on it now.. she never puts it into 4WD (dont need it here).. but eveytime I try it it's working fine.
OK, point(s) taken.. I scoured the setups and didn't find any mention of it.. both the real button and the virtual buttons all do the same thing, comes on and 2-3 seconds goes back off. I gotta hunch if I take it back to Ram Mecca they'll just point to the manual.
I may have found the answer: from the manual:
Heated Steering Wheel — If Equipped
The steering wheel contains a heating element that helps
warm your hands in cold weather. The heated steering
wheel has only one temperature setting. Once the heated
steering wheel has been turned on, it will...
So today tried the steering wheel heat for the first time. push the dash button, light comes on for maybe 3 seconds and goes off. tired the touchscreen - same thing. Seat heats work fine. I know these trucks have a bunch of settings but I didn't really see anything that would have an effect...
ya pricey. I'll just make one like it. <Have CNC, and know how to use it> :)
Actually, I've always been a big fan of the original 5-spoke mag wheel look from the 60s Maybe I'll go for that look. Too bad I've not found some 18s to replace the stock wheels on my truck..
I had a similar experience... drove the 100 miles to pickup my 2019 1500 in my 2007 Dakota quad cab 4.7L and got 17 mpg.. drove home in the 1500 w/HEMI and got 21. 12 years difference in tech really showed !
thanks!
So I dove into the menus... turns out the bendy vs rigid lines option is just a checkbox.. found it and now my lines are bendy :)
Also found the reason I was occasionally hearing beeping sounds while on the freeway... there's an option to beep when the blind spot light comes on, or...
