So a module swap (from bad module to good) will require programming? If so, how in alphaobd? No programming is needed for the radio module itself but the BCM of the vehicle will need programming to "know" there is a different radio installed.
Double check your re-pin and make sure the pins are seated all the way. This should not interfere with any of your issues.Good day everyone, I just repined the 8 pin connector. Like the photos on here. As soon as I did that my truck went crazy
Windshield wipers won't stop
Turn signals won't work
Compass is gone
Check in light on
A couple other light are one
I went from uconnect 4 8.4 too uconnect 4 12.1.
Any ideas![]()

I've seen this happen when power is applied to the CANBUS and/or a short is introduced.Good day everyone, I just repined the 8 pin connector. Like the photos on here. As soon as I did that my truck went crazy

This doesn’t work.First post, I'm just dropping this here because this thread was very helpful in answering questions while adding the UAX to my 4th Gen 2014 Ram. Here is how you can get your radio unlock code for free...
The Anti-Theft Code is easily deciphered, get the last 4 of the serial number form the radio module (not the screen), for example; last 4 of 0313. To decipher:
100 - 03 = 97 (100 minus first two characters of the last 4 digits of the serial number)
99 - 13 = 86 (99 minus last two characters of the last 4 digits of the serial number)
Full unlock code is 9786.
I believe this will work on all UAV/UAX/UAQ/UAS radios (probably all the Canadian versions of the same as well). Credit doesn't go to me but another member on ramforum whom I had a chat with but I'm failing to remember at the moment.
For those whose screen touches aren't working (or knobs aren't responding). I'd recommend opening the radio up and ensure all cables are seated properly. When I opened mine to remove the screen, I noticed what appeared to be a ribbon cable unseated from the factory.

EDIT: Question for anyone with AlfaOBD willing to check. Can you go connect directly to the 2017+ radio navigator module -> select the battery -> read system status and tell me what is listed for the current cabin EQ curve (should be a number)?
You need to repin the power or get a conversion harness and the LVDS cable. This is my next project. I am coming from an 8.4 Uconnect 4 to a 12inch Uconnect 4. I have searched and need some help lol. Since they are both uconnect 4, do I need any special cables or do I need to repin anything? Do I need to alfapbd other than:
ICS Intergrated Center Stack: Not Enabled
DCSD Display Screen Module: Enabled
I did hook things up, nothing is fully screwed in as I am still testing. However, when I put the middle harness in (next to white push in connector) The flashers start going and nothing comes on the screen. My parking assist, towing and those switches do function though. My thought is I do need to repin but I was not sure since it was uc4 to a uc4 unit.
Thanks in advance
The screen and module are for the UC4. If you're looking for the UC5 module and 12-inch screen, I can help you. Send me a PM.Does anyone know the proper part numbers for the uconnect 5 screen (12") and radio module. I want to confirm the one that I am purchasing is a uconnect 5. I currently have the 8.4 uconnect 4. Thanks
The module I am looking at purchasing is part number: 68422046AA
The screen I am looking at purchasing is model number : P68456007AB A
Did you ever get the part number? The bezel is the last thing I need but want to make sure I’m getting right oneDo you have the Part Number for this? My truck is same as yours.

Hey, my truck is doing the same thing how do I fix it ? I have disconnected the battery and let it sit for a while now and still no luckI've seen this happen when power is applied to the CANBUS and/or a short is introduced.
