Are you happy with your Ram??

You probably need a recall or two. There is an ABS software update needed on my '22. So far we both seem to have dodged the rear window leak and cracked exhaust manifold. Do not know if you have eTorque, I do. So far, so good. Really is a nice truck at a good price.
oh yeeah i have that ABS recall thing pending, but not on priority list.
with all the constant weight on the truck i'm camping in the slow lanes and only time i go fast is on dirt so I disable the nannies anyways lol

with that GoFast on top my rear window is dry 99% of the time so im not worried lol

I have e-torque too but if it goes that's something I can order the parts and do myself. not too worried because it's just a different form of alternator and alternators go bad too, just the e-torque generator is a bit more expensive. but it is what it is, the only other option for me is to get a PW with dual alternator and then start the build all over again with dropping $30k on day 1 for full suspension and another GFC camper lolll

I've been a Ram fan for decades, as I fell in love with the 2nd Gen body style introduced in the '90s and got my first new vehicle (a Ram 1500 reg cab, long bed, 5.9L V8) once I graduated from college and had been in my job for a few months. That truck was great, with no issues and was the springboard into several other Rams over the years as we picked up and sold truck campers, travel trailers, race trailers, etc. Prior to this truck, I had a '14 1500 Crew Cab with the 5' 7" bed and the Hemi. Great truck with no issues. I also had a '18 3500 Laramie Dually and that truck was flawless. Kept up on all the required maintenance, and the truck was great too without any unscheduled service items. Pulled a 48' race trailer with that truck and it was like it wasn't even back there aside from maneuvering in truck stops. Put 40k on that truck, mostly towing, but my kids aged out of racing when starting college / careers.

Downsized to a Tacoma after all but one of the kids had moved out of the house, but the wife and I wanted a small RV. The Taco was okay, but I felt like our 3300lb dry trailer was on the edge of what that little truck could safely handle regardless of published towing ratings. Decided to upgrade, but no need for the Cummins in this case.

Like the OP, once I decided to go back to full size truck, I was scouring forums, and was surprised at the amount of items posted about the current gen of Rams. But I also saw a similar amount on GM forums, Ford forums, and having been on several Toyota forums while I had the Tacoma, the Tundra's were ruled out with the major issues they were having with engines, etc. Plus for some reason, they are ridiculously priced, at least up here in the PNW.

So I found a one owner, super low miles (12k when I got it), '21 Ram 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab 4x4 non-E torque with the 3.92 axle ratios at a great price. Even had a Retrax bed cover already! Perfect truck for me and my wife currently. Pulls the RV like it isn't there, and still a very smooth ride. Leaves me room if we decide to get a bigger trailer later too.

I have had some 'glitches' surface since buying it a month ago. Posted separately, but my pass door lock wouldn't always lock (but that seems to have fixed itself now), the windshield washer motor is inop, and the heater element in the driver's side mirror doesn't work. These are small items and seem electrical related, which is something I never had issues with in any of my previous Rams.

I'm still very happy with my purchase, and right now, there isn't full size truck option that is any better. They are all suffering from small quality issues, even the Toyotas. I think if a person is looking at a full size truck, its just good to expect some items will need addressing regardless of brand, trim level, etc. I'm looking into adding an extended warranty for my truck, but in WA state, I can't buy anything except from an in-state dealer...

At 1100 miles with a 25 Limited 6'4 bed.

Good:

The truck is great, ride is butter smooth, cab is quiet, engine is like a sports car.

The interior is high quality, infotainment took a little getting used to but its nice and snappy after connecting to my home wifi for an update, massage/heated seats & wheel are so nice.

Paint seems high quality, I measured with a paint gauge & its got a good thickness. I love the look of the exterior except for one thing I'll mention below

Bad:

The local dealer. Every word out of that dude's mouth was a lie.
Could have gone with Mark Dodge but I didn't want to wait, this was here & had everything I wanted. They weren't offering much of a discount on this VIN compared to others & I doubt MD would have done special financing + discount anyhow.

Decals/badges. Every side of the truck says RAM. RAM RAM RAM okay **** yeah RAM.
The decals having holes behind them is annoying, can't swap them without body/paint work or getting creative with vinyl & filling the holes.

Everything is just wide open underneath, exposed to dirt, salt, ice, rocks, debris, etc. Good for working on it but for $90k you could have put some plastic covers down there. Yeah I know skid plates exist but I'm not going rock crawling in my brand new limited.

The smart key only works on the front doors, doesn't auto unlock from the backseats. Minor but still annoying.

Rest of the bad would just be minor stuff too, interior could use more ambient light, wish there was a 'hold' function when pressing the brake down firmly, the screen could be slightly more set into the center console & the bezel thinner. Also like someone else mentioned the good aftermarket stuff always seems to be right around the corner.

As of right now I'd give the truck 9/10. Hopefully it stays that way.

I'm really happy with my '22 laramie 2500 4x4 ccsb dsl. rides good. gets good mileage when not towing and pulls our 5th wheel easily. I had a '19 laramie 1500 4x4 first so moving up to the 2500 was NBD except that it handles more like a barge when trying to get around in town. it's the first diesel I have owned and that takes so adjustment.

from a test drive perspective I genuinely loved the 2026 Ram with the HEMI. So much smoother than the F-150s I’d driven. Unfortunately the electrical issues everyone talks about scared me off. I’m surprised to see how many people talk about being down for weeks or even months! Seems like stellantis is super slow to act too. I have no way to make that livable. I’ll have to wait to see how 26 and 27s play out because it sure was an awesome truck.

Love my 2025 lonestsr. 5000 miles and going. Everyone comments how.comfortsble and quiet/smooth it is.

On two occasions I've received compliments on it as well from strangers in parking lots.

I just wanted to quote you on:

"The local dealer. Every word out of that dude's mouth was a lie."

My response... been there, heard that, tired of it too.

Remove the badges from the doors. That should leave just the grill and tailgate.

If you don't have rear fender liners, install them. They are cheap and will keep the underside much cleaner.

When pressing the brake down firmly, isn't your foot doing the "hold"? I'm not familiar with a brake hold feature and I question any benefits it may have.

I have a 21 Rebel, hemi, etorque. LOVED the truck when I got it. After a multitude of issues, including local dealers that suck so bad you'd do anyting to avoid them, I'm just kind of OK with it.

Its still the nicest interior of any truck I've ever owned, quiet comfortable ride, plenty of power for my needs, looks good, but due to the issues, I doubt my next one will be another Ram.

21 limited is everything I expected it to be and some. Hands down, Best all around vehicle I’ve ever owned. Ya the manifolds cracked, other things are going to go wrong but i don’t really care **** happens to all vehicles.

I’ve wanted a ram for 10+ years, finally got one and it’s far surpassed all expectations
