PARK SENSE/SERVICE SHIFTER CODES

Big props and thanks to all who figured out replacing the CAN BUS-CONNECTOR.
Replacing the part was very easy. Here are the steps I took and some pictures for reference
1) Turn off all power with the start engine stop button
2)with fingers on the right side of the headlight and dimmer switch panel, gently pull and the panel will pop off.
3) about 3” behind the switch panel you will see the bus connector mounted to the left vertically. Slide the bus connector upwards to disconnect it from the metal mounting plate. Pull the bus connector with all wires connected outside the panel where you can access it.
4) take pictures of the wiring, just in case you need to refer back to it during the next step
5) you will now transfer each wire clip from the old bus to the new bus, one at a time, to ensure the clip goes into the exact hole on the new bus as the old bus. To remove the clip, insert a thin flathead screwdriver between the clip and the bus which depresses the latch on the clip, allowing the clip to pop out.
6) slide the new bus onto the metal holder plate.
7) press, the light switch panel back into place.

Can confirm. Replaced the Star connector and haven’t had any issues. FINALLY! ~$65 bucks and you can switch them out yourself very easily.
I have one on the way exact same issues in the exact same order Ram 1500 2019
I have the exact same issue and just order the star connector. How easy is it to swap them out? Is it just unplugging each wire connector and plugging it in to the same spot in the new star connector?

Star connector swapped out. And another success. No warning lights, no issues.

I replaced the Star Connector today. Very easy. I was curious how the circuit board looked. Wasn’t bad. There are some questionable soldering. Will update if this issue continues after replacement. Also just a note, the connector was not mounted to the bracket. That may have down something with it.
Do you have the part number? We have been fighting these issues for over a year and the dealer is helpless! I am having trouble locating the part by the descriptions given so any help would be appreciated!

It is the Star connector that needs to get replaced. An aircraft mechanic on here said that's what he traced it to be I printed this whole thing took it the dealership after the 5th visit since Oct 2023. They changed it on Thursday and so far so good
One person said can bus , other said star connector I think they are 2 different things.

@wardfly

Follow the instructions here: PARK SENSE/SERVICE SHIFTER CODES

This fixed my issue with warnings for Parksense Temporarily Unavailable as well as Service Shifter. Start to finish it took probably 15 minutes.

I speak for a growing number of 2019 and up 5th Gen RAM 1500 owners. We are having serious electrical issues with the "PARK SENSE & SERVICE SHIFTER" systems. The Park Sense shuts off without warning, then turns back on along with a SERVICE SHIFTER message (and check engine light) appearing on the Dashboard Message Screen. There are no codes being held in memory, but yet our trucks continue daily to have these issues. They continue to shut off the PARK SENSE and or lock the truck into PARK...........WE NEED RAM TO GET AN AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL DETECTIVE, NOW!!!!!!!....................So far I've have had to deal with the INADEQUATE, IMPROPERLY TRAINED employees, that cant find their butts with a map and both hands!...All RAM knows how to do is BREAK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT by throwing unneeded parts at your vehicle....I have spoken with numerous 5th Gen Ram 1500 owners recently, that are having this same ongoing electrical system issue, and the only thing any of us are getting out of RAM, is "WE DON'T KNOW WHATS WRONG, BUT KEEP GIVING US YOUR MONEY!"
just replaced mine today, use a small pick ,1 at a time and transfer them to the new unit no numbers on the new connector , but I would think mopar has a wire diagram vis the color code on the wires just do 1 at a time ,7-18-25 SO FAR SO GOOD truck has never been this quite on the inside ,,lol

did my can buss connector last friday system has been quite no park sensors unavailable, and once in awhile the service shifter warning, well worth the 65 dollars , never heard the so quite on the inside ,lol

My 2019 Dodge Ram Limited started malfunctioning, causing me to wreck when the shifter unexpectedly went into park while I was driving. The brakes locked up, making the truck slide, and by the time it switched back, I was already sliding off the road. (It had just rained and the roads were wet.)

I contacted the dealership about the issue four times prior to the accident. The body shop repaired the truck, but the shifter problem persists. The dealership claims the issue stemmed from the wreck, despite my explanation that it caused the wreck. They are currently attempting to fix it, but they still haven't identified the root cause.

I switched dealerships because the first one seemed incompetent. I'm hopeful that the current dealership's technicians will be able to solve the problem. Fingers crossed.

Looks like someone filed a NHTSA File complaint for this issue. Not sure if we as a forum can confirm this issue or escalate it for others.
https://www.nhtsa.gov/ is the link if you feel called to add yours.
