AlfaOBD Known Changes 5th Gen

This was a thing a while back but I don't know if it was fixed.

Is your AlfaOBD up to date?

I even tried the OBDlink MX+. Still can't connect to "comfort" module.

Nandalora, I noticed Jimmy is using the Windows version. Are you using an Android phone or tablet? Maybe the problem is it only works on Windows.

I am using an Android tablet. Thanks

Update - so I emailed info@alfaOBD asking about the issue of connecting to the comfort module on the Android app and asked if they could refund me so I could buy the windows version. Alexey refunded it, but didn't say anything about this being a known issue....I wonder if anyone has had success connecting to the comfort module from an Android tablet?

So I guess I'll try downloading the windows version. Just need to find an old laptop in my house that works...

I tried for awhile last year, emailed them back and forth with no answers, either they don't really understand that the Android version has this issue...............or, they don't care. I guess it's hot enough in the mornings now that I won't worry about until the Fall!

I did ask Alexey of this was a known issue and he said "no". If I can successfully connect with the windows version I'll let him know and suggest he fixes the Android app.

I am unable to connect to comfort via Android as well using an MX+.

I can connect via windows but some comfort parameters (such as auto on temp) just refuse to be modified as shown in this post 574. I either get the error shown in that screenshot or a statement that says the parameter cannot be modified in active diagnostics.
Other parameter setpoint values that I input in comfort do not yield set points being confirmed that match what was actually input. Something seems odd for sure.

As expect, I had success connecting to the comfort module using the Windows version of AlfaOBD. I found the heated seat and steering wheel parameters for temperature and time. This is great for those wanting to make changes. I'm my case, I wanted to increase the steering wheel heat temp and time. You can see the before and after screenshots of the parameters.

Also, I did not have success implementing the high/low/off or high/med/low/off levels. In fact, I believe it cause my heated steering wheel to deactivate after 5 mins when I had the multi level selected. You can access that through the body module, car config change, then search "heated wheel". You will find "material" and "level" as options to change. I also didn't notice a difference changing the material from wood/leather (factory setting) to full leather.

Before (factory setting):

After: note - I had a fault of "steering wheel overtemp" and the heated wheel would turn off after 5 mins. I think this was due to the high/med/low/off being selected, but it also might have been from having different temps for high/med/low, so I made them all the same. Now its 35C for ramp and 40C for steady state.

I can't get the multi-level hesr to stay on mine anymore. I had it working until I updated to newest app version of Uconnect. Now even with it selected it won't work.

My steering wheel does not get as hot as it did before I switched from wood/leather to just leather. Which is good because it was really warm before I changed it. Almost too warm for continuous use

Btw, I tried adding automatic folding for my mirrors...didn't work.

I have power folding tow mirrors which I fold in when I park, so it would be nice if that was automatic. So I found the setting in the BCM module and enabled it. The setting even shows up in controls on the uconnect screen. But when I check the box it automatically unchecks after a few seconds :(

Autofold doesn't work without using live settings of TazerDT.
