Correct. I tried to find the old diagram that I had, but I could not. The pump is chain driven by the input shaft, directly behind the torque converter. There is an internal thermostat that opens and the fluid gets pumped to the transmission oil cooler. It opens around 167 F (75 C). There may be...
Dealer found nothing wrong with manifolds. All bolts intact and could not duplicate ticking.
Transmission flashed to latest software and drives much better
Dealer ordered a new filler neck for the gas tank. Will have to drop the truck off again for install in a couple of weeks.
Ramboxes look...
How did you refill it with such low temps? My land Rover had the same transmission and the fill procedure required the thermostat to open (if I remember 75 C) to fill properly. Or, did you just overfill by 1/2 liter?
Nothing fun, but dropped the Rebel off at the dealer for:
-exhaust manifold ticking and fumes in cab
- hard downshift 4-3 and 8-7
- gas tank won't fill
- mis-aligned rambox lids
- shudder at highway speed- feels like dragging brakes, or binding diff.
We'll see how it turns out!
Thank you! I have been obsessing ever since we got the 1500.
I spent the last two weeks slowly getting wife approval and just bit the bullet. It is expensive, but by the time I was done upgrading the Rebel, the money spent would have been more than I paid for the power wagon.
Here is the...
Just got my dethloff trans skid plate. That will go on today. We also traded in the wife's 4Runner and picked up a 75th anniversary powerwagon. She gets the rebel and I get the power wagon. Both incredibly happy
Responded to you PM, brother. Response posted below to keep the discussion going:
I think it will work just fine for you. I imagine the bracket on the non-rambox just prevents the side channels from sitting flush. But, with your set up, that would not be the case.
The only issues I have had...
It adds some initial complexity, but well worth it. I have mine set up exactly how he wants it: comes on automatically with reverse lights (triggered by BU trigger from 7-pin) and I can turn them on with my in-cab switch.
You're right though. Run one wire the length of the truck (relay in...
I would recommend running the relay under the hood. That way, if you add any other lights and power off something like the trigger 4, the wires are already there.
Definitely use the 7-pin BU (center pin) as the trigger for the relay.
I basically ran light power, light ground, and BU trigger...
Yes. No special switch, but need an ignition switched 12v source as the trigger. Recommend fuse 66 under the driver side dash
