Jonnygobig,
I had the same issue back in January 2023. I was coincidently in Santa Cruz at the time. I had no idea that I had a rear window leak.
I had the truck towed to the local Chrysler/Ram dealer in Santa Cruz. They did not find any error codes, but fortunately identified the rear window...
I have posted on this thread many times.
This "shut-down" problem came ups back in January 2023. It resurfaced this week.
I have read many opinions on the root cause. In my case, I think it was caused by water intrusion in the connections for the RF Module behind the rear seat.
The problem...
Hello RamCares,
I am reaching out about an issue with my 2020 1500 Limited.
This problem started in January. The engine would shut off and the truck would go into park.
The problem resurfaced about 1 month ago. I would like to change the RF Module. The dealership is quoting $290 for the part...
If you end up bringing it back to the Dealer, have them check the RF Hub and connections.
I have not experienced the issue (10 months) since I replaced the rear window and had the RF hub connections cleared of any water.
I still check this forum daily to see if the root cause and solution...
Many of us have experienced a "shut down" while the truck is moving on the road. There are several posts on this forum. And YES - It is a huge safety issue.
As of now, no route cause has been identified. Many of us think that the RF hub is the culprit due to water intrusion from the rear...
This is probably a different issue from the one that I experienced. My vehicle is a 2020 model year and there have been no such recalls for the particular issue that I had.
I check this forum everyday to see if anyone has found a solution.
Please let us know what the Dealership tells you.
Did you check your rear window for leaks?? If not, please have the dealership do it. It will save you from more problems down the road.
This has happened several times to me on my 2020 Limited. It turns off eventually.
Just another frustrating issue with these RAMs.......................
I assume the 4 prior incidents were from the prior owner. I am guessing they got rid of the vehicle because of this issue, like others on this forum have done.
for Clarity: This issue is not fixed in the V8. I am not sure that the problem has anything to do with the engine.
The generally...
In my case it was a fire truck, but I was able to get the engine re-started and move out of the way.
I keep checking the forum postings to see if anyone has had any luck finding the true source of the problem or if Ram has updated the software to provide an error code and source of the...
Many of us had brought up this same issue in other posts on this forum.
My 2020 Limited had this issue in January with no resolution from the dealer. They did find a rear window leak and eventually replaced the rear window and "blew out" all the water on the RF Hub and eTorque battery.
I...
I second the idea of doing a video. I would like to see the process of removing the back seat and other components to get to the RF Hub. The dealer made it sound like it was a big deal - I always doubt what the dealers tell me.................................
