I'd still like to know when the rails changed since mine was built 9/8, exactly one month before yours.

It would also be great if Bak asked build date to send the right rails.
I think they should just ONLY send the clamp rails since they work on all the trucks

From other posts it also appears that Bak covers won't fit on the black rails. Those came in place of the silver ones if you ordered the factory tonneau cover. (Explains why some have silver and some have black rails.) I have the silver rails and they worked just fine but as @cjmst23 has pointed out, there appear to be two versions of the silver rails which brings us to three different possible RamBox rails installed.

FCA making things difficult with 3 different rail types / sizes

I just placed an order thru a dealer close to my work and am getting the Mopar trifold hard tonneau (my understanding is this is same as back mx4). I had a bakflip for several years on my rwo other trucks. Cover was $900 on Mopar site. I found a 15% discount coupon. Tax was added and I prepaid. The only color they could give was there were 110 back ordered on Saturday and the system said 80ish we're still on back order. Nice to see movement. I figured I'd jump in line. Fingers crossed I get the version that fits my truck...gave them my vin but it didn't sound like the system was sophisticated enough to accept it. Perhaps my vin will be noticed when it is fulfilled. Price was right, warranty easier if needed, and hopefully minimize chance of a part that doesn't fit my truck...

I'm pretty sure the Mopar hard cover is not an MX4. It's made by Bak but appears to me one of the fiber versions, not the aluminum MX4 and from reading the Mopar instructions, you CAN'T close the tailgate with the cover down like you can on the MX4.

Doh! @Douglas31 can you confirm if you can close the tailgate with the mopar version down ?

Not saying you can't - just saying Bak does not recommend it unless you have the MX4 specifically. From their universal hard cover instructions:

I went with the MX4 specifically for the aluminum panels and this ability. From the Ram web page it does not appear that the Mopar cover is aluminum:

That would make the Mopar cover either the Bak F1 or the Fiber Max, both of which require you to close the tailgate first before lowering the bed cover. Unless someone's web info is wrong but that never happens...

Wonderful news. Thank you! I assumed, but I should have double checked that before ordering. Thanks for clearing this up. Hope you are still liking your Mopar cover
Yep, still liking it.

Just went through a car wash with the MX4 and I'm a LONG way from water resistant. Obviously the rear end leaked profusely, but what shocked me was how much water leaked in behind the RamBox rails along the sides.

I've not removed them but it appears the upfitter just reinstalled them over the spray in bedliner and apparently that's not water tight. Rather than trying to caulk the top edge of the rails, I may just remove them and put something behind them.

I saw no leakage whatsoever on the sides of the MX4, as I expected, since they seal perfectly against their rails and to the RamBox rails as well.

My Stealth (LineX/TruckGear branded MX4) came in today and I'm having it installed on Monday. I'll post some pics Monday afternoon and give an update on fit.

Is this the one you ordered? Has anyone else tried this one yet?

Yes this is the one I ordered/prepaid for. There was an AB part number, which was modified to AC. I ordered the AC. There is no ETA yet. If it's not here by March 5th I can cancel. This was the deal I worked out with them as I need a cover solution by mid March.
Thanks, I am interested in this one as well but hate to the the first one to try it!:p

I had the Stealth installed today. Looks great so far. No idea on water resistance yet.

I assume those black tubes on back are drains? I didn't know they would be drilling into spray in liner in side. 20190128_125201.jpg

Yes, drains. There are factory grommets right there that were sprayed over and your installer just drilled into them. You might be able to re-route through center of bottom tie-down but you'd still have holes in your grommets.

The custom rail did the trick for me. I'm relieved to finally have this project complete.

I received my Mopar trifold cover this week and put it on today. I am surprised it came in so fast. According to the manual, warranty is 3 years vs 1 year (mx4). So happy to finally have a cover back on my box on my 19.
