2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

tuner for hurricane -- burger tuning. Makes it fly faster.
Level of technical know-how needed?
I do all my own mechanical work short of warranty work. I’m a retired engineer,
So have some background, but not with engine tuners. HP increase is interesting but really.. the HO is already fast as hell. Better mileage? Now that’d be nice.

I thought someone posted that they might announce soon that the 6.4 is coming to the 1500? Regardless, the 6.4 was just a suggestion on my part to bring something different to the table that might draw more interest than the same old 5.7. I just purchased my 2025 last September, so for me, I have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon.

Ram has only been posting the 5.7 coming back. I saw on the Ram truck site that they announced a Black Express Edition but Ive seen nothing else

It's very easy to set up -- just a few wires. I think the directions are on a youtube video on the burger turning website after selecting Ram for your vehicle. Take a look.

But what about MPG gains… Are there any? Are they real?

I just like power. I don't know anything about MPG gains -- don't really care. That was Riding Deacon in an earlier post about him getting good mileage after the JB4 tune in post #2078. I don't know what it was before. You would have to clarify with him for clarification.

Well it was my suggestion that they should offer 6.4. Wether or not they are doesn't change my opinion. Bringing back the same 5.7L is nothing to get excited about and kind of a let down. At this point, I wouldn't even consider a new truck with the 5.7L.

I doubt there are any real world MPG gains. MPG's are so important to car manufacturers, I doubt they leave any mpg's at the table that can be so easily obtained with a simple tune.

I have been running the JB4 Tuner since March in my Tungsten and like it very much. You can really feel the difference. It had zero impact on my MPG. I might be wrong, but from what I can tell it tricks the engine into increasing the boost from the turbo's so during normal driving you are not in a boosted condition - hence no change in MPG's. It only seems to change things once you are running it wide open.

My 2025 1500 Bighorn sometimes does a weird downshift when leaving the house and going down a hill. I’ve never had that with 2017 and 2019 Rams with hemis
