2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I don’t, I’m sure Google does though😉

That said, I’ve found that most of these type of issues, that lead people to want to lemon law a vehicle, are largely due to an individual dealership’s poor performance (knowledge, scheduling of techs, parts department skill, etc) rather than the vehicles themselves. Before stressing yourself further, it may be worth your while to ask/ look/read around and see if there’s another dealership in proximity whose service department is well regarded.
Good Luck
I tend to agree with this. Vehicles get labeled as lemons, but it's because someone is failing to diagnose the problem correctly. If the problem was diagnosed correctly and repaired properly the first time, the vehicle wouldn't continue to be problem and labeled a lemon. Instead, they start touching everything and replacing parts that don't need replacing and causing more problems as they go.

Absolutely. Or they don’t schedule a knowledgeable technician on the problem, because it’s warranty work, or make an initial diagnosis and are willing to let it sit until parts come in. Or, the parts department is inept and waits on the wrong or superseded part.

I agree with both of you. It’s a sad situation. Like many others, I’ve lived it. The air suspension on 2014 was a mess. The dealers would have it for up to two months and tell me it was fixed, then I couldn’t get out of the parking lot before it failed again.
Regardless of where the fault lays (truck or dealer), the bottom line is the owner has to deal with it. We all have our thresholds. At some point it’s just not worth it.

Agreed, however, going to a few other dealerships and describing what’s going on, mentioning you’re looking for a service department you can trust can yeild fantastic results.

Totally agree. I did this, and eventually found a dealership with a mechanic that cared, and had the knowledge (rare combo it seams). You're right - it's well worth the second or third "opinion" from another dealer before pulling the lemon card.

My first 2025 getting bought back after filing under lemon law. I already picked up its replacement, another 2025 Ram 1500. I love the trucks and figured, “what are the chances of trouble twice?”

Less than 200 miles on the new truck and I just found coolant on the garage floor. Got it up on the lift, and it looks like the water pump is leaking/seeping down on the AC compressor, before making its way to the frame and floor.

Called my local dealership for an appointment. Though a formal diagnosis is forthcoming, they tell me that the water pump is on back order and would likely take a couple months to get.

Brother can’t catch a break.

Here is an update going around for 2 weeks now...

I got the update now or schedule screen for this update this morning. I was running late for work and I didn’t do anything at the time. I got home tonight and I for the life of me cannot find this update or get it to show again to install it. Truck says I am connected to my home wi fi. I push the update software button and all that comes up is a list of networks which it shows I am connected. Anyone know what the trick is surely it’s not 1 time take it or leave it option. I miss GMs update processes much easier. Thanks guys

I just got this update, today. Only one I’ve gotten since October since my truck was up to date.

Their update screen is so user unfriendly. It is not apparent in any way shape or form to know whether your software is up to date or not. This is the way it goes: Hey, let’s check for software updates. Okay, here’s a list of WiFi networks. Okay, now I’m connected. End of road. There should absolutely be a “check for updates” button and a “Your software is up to date” page.

Ford had one. It errored and falsely claimed updates were available so often they removed it.
Since vehicles are more variable than phones, they push an update if your VIN requires it. You could get one, I could not. It’s not really that simple

Take the updates when they are there you might have to go dealer now. Same thing with our phones auto update is 2updates behind .

Yeah, updated the security gateway which means, no fixes for the driver 😮‍💨
I was out of town for about two weeks, with the truck in the garage and connected to wifi. There were no messages or alerts when I got home. I really have no idea if I got the gateway update or not. Was hoping the SPAAK would be working by end of March. Oh well, same ol' same ol'.

My vote goes for this being more of a ram issues rather than just your bad luck. My truck currently has about 550 miles on it, I have a list of issues that are wrong with it and that adds to a few that have already been "fixed." I've visited 3 different dealers, none of them seem to have a clue about these trucks or they simply do not care, whether that is because of the 2025 aspect or just typical for ram (I've never owned a CDJR product before) I have no idea. At this point I'm ok with these dealers having no clue, as I plan to drop it off at the most incompetent of the 3 and hope it takes them 19+ more days to fix and then I'll have my 30 days in to qualify for the lemon law in Wisconsin. Personally I think stellantis pushed these trucks out way before they should have, and I also think the techs are not and have not been trained sufficiently. I can find Ford and Chevy/GM dealer mechanics that know what they're doing without a problem, not the case with ram. I also have a few independent garages fairly local I've used for years that also have very knowledgeable techs, and these guys do not want to touch one of these trucks with a 10 foot pole, UNLESS it's something super simple, and then they still don't really want to. Maybe stellantis will get this figured out in a few years, but personally I do not see good things for stellantis in the future. Best of luck on your next vehicle purchase, if by chance this one doesn't work out.

I'm not there with this new truck (yet); I really like it. I have to take it in for a Virginia inspection anyway (purchased in Maryland), so I was always going to make the trip. And, with this matter, I'm blessed to have a general idea of the issue, e.g. water pump, thermostat, gasket, etc. So, trying to keep a good attitude.

I just hate the idea of them tearing into a new truck that doesn't have a scratch on it.

The RAM switch sounds “vaguely” reminiscent to what Ford did in the 2012-2015 timeframe. They had the 5.4 or 5.0 v8, then got the 3.5 twin turbo. At first it had teething problems, just like the Hurricane does. Then (eventually) they solved the main issues the motor had. Course it took an engine refresh in 2017 to fix some of their problems.

From website “Motorreviewer”:
“In 2017, Ford has revised the design of the 3.5L EcoBoost and a new more powerful version became available for the 2017 F-150, 2018 Expedition, and 2018 Navigator. The upgraded engine received a number of changes, but the most noticeable of them is the addition of multi-port fuel injection and new turbochargers. The operation of multi-port fuel injection is combined with direct injection. It covers a raised fuel output needs but also prevents a carbon buildup on the intake valves, keeping the engine on the same level of performance during a long mileage. New Borg Warner turbocharger has turbine wheel made of MAR-M-247 super alloy and electrically actuated wastegate reducing turbocharger lag even more.”

In summary, RAM will sort out the problems with the Hurricane by say 2027. Until then, earlier adopters will remain the beta testers for Stellantis/RAM. A factory extended warranty should be mandatory. It will be a good motor, just like the 3.5 turbo Ford has. Ford has their V8 purists just like RAM does, so RAM bringing back the hemi (some version of) makes sense. All IMHO of course.
im sure ram (stellantis) learned allot from fords mistakes also and while ram seems to have trouble with their 2025s the sst doesnt seem to be the problem. i think most issues are with the sensors but i dont know. i have a 2025 rebel with 18000 miles on it and i havnt had a single issue with this truck, not one. roll of the dice? maybe so, ive had a 2019 laramie no issues got a 2024 rebel no issues except it got totaled cause i hit a dear and thats how i ended up with the 2025 rebel. i love my truck drives smooth and has balls to bat!

I just picked up my 2025 Laramie, only issue so far is around 1500 RPM there is a sound like something is vibrating. It feels like truck is in a higher gear. Happens especially driving around town. On highway truck is good and also good in normal driving. Sounds like something is loose like a heat shield or skid plate, etc.
Anyone else is having this issue.

i do notice between 2nd and 3rd gears a slight vibration or shudder but I've chalked that up as something normal based on the fact that there's allot more 2025 owners that have commented on the same . as far as a vibrating sound? nothing I can comment on. earlier I said I haven't had any issues on this truck I misspoke, I did have an issue. the speed sensing locks didn't work when i first got the truck but there's been a fix passed on for that issue and haven't had any problems with that since.
