2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Has anybody figured out how to fold down the rear seats in a '25? Mine recline and the bottom folds up, but there doesn't seem to be a way to fold the backs down like I've seen on the '24s.
Someone mentioned it, I think in this thread.

Customer care called yesterday to say that buy back is again denied and they are closing the ticket since the dealership is waiting for the PCM. They said I can reopen if the new PCM doesn't fix the issue. I will call he dealership to see if they can pull it from another truck.
The lemon laws vary by state, so you should check them out for your state. In some states, there is a relatively limited number of days the truck can be out of service (during a specified period of time and/or mileage). For NY it's 30 days in the first two years or 18,000 miles. If they refuse to give you a date on a new PCM, and you're truly getting fed up with this, it's at least an option. You don't have to abide by what FCA customer care says.

I have retained a Lemon Law Lawyer and they said it could take between 12 to 24 months to get it resolved because FCA likes to drag it out.

That’s ridiculous. I wonder if they’d be liable for punitive damages if it takes that long…

I wouldnt say they fold down 100%, but there is a small circle of "rip cord" on the back of the seats, Feel around and pull it, it will release the seats

The lawyers are the professionals. I agree that this seems longer than conventional wisdom. I thought anywhere from 3 - 12 months. But it all depends on your state, and your state's requirements. In some cases it's black and white (like your truck has been out of service for X days), in other cases, proving it's a lemon could be more subjective (and problematic). I'm sorry you've even had to go this far.
I'm dealing with FCA myself, and they do drag everything out. As much as I like the trucks, I'm not a fan of this company.
Good luck, and keep fighting for what's right.

Sure enough. I looked once before, and I hadn't seen verification that the 2025s had them, so I gave up before I found it. Once you release them, they definitely don't want to fold easily though. I have the heated back seats, so that probably doesn't help. They started making not great plastic noises before they were halfway down, so I just put them back. There's surprisingly little room back there.

Is there access to get to the speaker. I have a sweatshirt under seat the cover vibrates they didnt push the cover on right with the clips.

So I was having a strange problem with all the lights on the front end going out then coming back on, when stopping. It was probably less than a second almost like a flash. I took it in today and they said I had a bad aux battery and had to replace it. The tech said it was a common issue they are seeing, though they had never seen the lights flash before. So just in case anyone runs across this I would have them look at the aux battery.

I wanted to pick your guys brains on oil change intervals. I'm at 5,000 miles which in the past was always when I get oil changed, but my indicator is showing I'm still at 50% oil life. 90-95% of my driving is highway so that makes sense. Would you guys wait until maybe 7,500 miles for an oil change, since the oil life indicator still says 50%?

I’m waiting for the “Oil change required” message to appear. I assume it shows up closer to 0%. Mine is at 20% with 8000 miles. Modern synthetic oils can last 10000 miles. I have oil and a filter ready for when I get the notification.

I would think 7500 mostly highway miles is still a pretty safe oil change interval. I am one of those that does not feel comfortable running the oil life indicator down close to zero. I did my first oil change at just under 5k miles and I am currently at 6k miles on current oil but getting ready to change it again. If I ran it to 7500 miles, I still would be fine with it, but I start to get uncomfortable with anything past 8k miles. That's just my personal preference, but I do keep my trucks for at least 100k miles. My previous Ram, with the hemi, had 207k miles at trade in and motor was still running strong.

I don't go by the indicator, I generally have been doing 5K oil changes with mixed driving. Everything I've been hearing from quality mechanics is saying that the extended intervals are to be able to advertise cheaper/longer maintenance intervals to help them sell cars not to make them last forever.

One month with this truck and I’m already sick of it. First had airbag lights come on, then the front left amber running lights stopped illuminating, and now this. Anyone deal with this before? Can’t even check without the dipstick either. 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, the problem with using something like silicone is that of they come up with a fix or need to fix that area, there’s now extra work.
Properly applied electrical tape on clean surfaces will hold fine for a couple months underneath.
Properly specified sealed (watertight) connectors would be the solution if this is actually the problem. Should be escallated as a recall if the wrong connectors were used or if they are defective. Pity the tier one who gets the bill.
