2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Black electrical tape doesn't do too well in water, I have seen it unravel due to loss of adhesion. I would suggest cleaning off with alcohol then silicon sealer or Gorilla Sealant then fingers to smooth it out and make sure it is sticking. Who knows how long it will take to get it re-engineered. Please show us some pictures so I can check out my truck to see if I will have the same issue.
My first recommendation to the maintenance manager and tech was to seal it up with electrically safe silicone sealer. They told me that they could not do that because it might void the warranty. Then when I got a copy of the RO, it said that they had in fact used silicone sealer and then taped it up. Because it is taped up now I can’t see if the used the silicone or not. It has snowed here so I’ll be headed to the car wash to do an undercarriage wash as soon as the weather and roads clear.

Yeah, the problem with using something like silicone is that of they come up with a fix or need to fix that area, there’s now extra work.
Properly applied electrical tape on clean surfaces will hold fine for a couple months underneath.

I posted three pictures of the connection on page 77 of this thread.

I doubt it. More likely it would be ruled that if you buy a pro scanner you already have the ability to diagnose & repair your own vehicle (assuming you can buy the necessary parts which even the dealers can't). When I first started watching this forum I couldn't believe how many people were hacking their vehicles to add features and how simple it seemed using off the shelf consumer grade tools. What this implied was lack of security in the electronics modules. Over the past few years suppliers have been hard pressed to implement cyber security features to ensure vehicle safety. After all, no one wants their vehicle hacked remotely and as a consequence, hacking in your garage is eliminated as well. This also comes at a cost of not allowing detailed information on proprietary bus messaging into the public as well as ensuring bus traffic is encrypted. So take your choice, new high end tech features (with a locked down bus starting in 2025) or the ability to hack your RAM (2024 and earlier). One of the reasons it was so simple to hack the earlier Rams was the use of LSCAN allowing modules to be plugged into a star bus. This is no longer possible when they implement CANFD. Harnesses become much more specific to the vehicle build.
Ahhh I can remember the days when cars were so much simpler, a screw driver, socket wrench, tach/dwell meter was all that was needed to tune up an engine. Plugs, points, condenser, carb rebuild kit and you were running smooth as a babies butt. When did it all go to hell.... Now they are so sophisticated you need to be a computer engineer first and grease monkey second. Good thing it is still simple to make a good Bourbon and even easier to drink it down eh.....

When I hear dealers use that old standby BS about voiding warranties it just frustrates the hell out of me since they are speaking out of their butts. Anybody being told that BS should tell the dealer they need to look up " The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act". Quote from the Act " Commission staff has recently issued a number of guidance documents to better educate consumers and businesses concerning their rights and obligations under the MMWA. For example, in order to cure perceived misconceptions in the marketplace, staff issued and recently updated a consumer alert stating that the MMWA prohibits warrantors from voiding an automotive warranty merely because a consumer uses an aftermarket or recycled part or third-party services to repair one’s vehicle."
Sorry, done ranting now...Time for my meds. 🥃

Where you on the show suits. You cant be nice to dealers tell them what they have to do and thats that. I have been useing same dealer for my trucks for 20 years know the owner managers and along time ago had to put service manger in his place. Sorry to say only way to get it done. Buying ram for 20 years had one exhaust manifolds replaced . The 2025 at dealer 3 times in 90 days updates updates . To many new electronics.

me too, I still have my old dwell meter somewhere in the garage.

Does anyone else have times when their seat or wheel heaters turn off by themselves? I’ve asked before, just checking in. Mine do intermittently.

knock on wood, but mine don't seem to. To be honest, I usually have to turn down after just a few minutes. On high, it's just too much. I leave on level 1 for a while, and it hasn't shut off on me. Just one data point for you.

I noticed my steering wheel turned off this morning, Not a big deal as I usually turn it off after a while anyway.

The big deal is the “why” I can’t stand it when something that should work, doesn’t.

I've never used the heated steering wheel on my truck yet, but I know on my wife's Jeep it doesn't turn off, it just seems to not heat up as much after 10-15 mins. The seats do stay on though until I turn them off. Her massaging seats turn off after 30 mins as well. I haven't driven my truck in 5-6 weeks, but I might have to go drive it around this weekend.

I mentioned before that mine do turn off after about 20-30 minutes. I also use the auto features where it all comes on when I remote start the car depending on the outside temperature. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. That only turns on the driver seat and it's usually just me in the truck. My wife has never mentioned or noticed that hers turn off when she turns it on. So, it has me wondering if it's a function of the auto climate features, where it warms the truck up and then shuts it off once it thinks it's at a comfortable level. I haven't had the opportunity to test if it stays on if I put it on manually. Might be worth paying attention too.

Thanks for the response (to everyone). The manual says they stay on until turned off, so…

Has anybody figured out how to fold down the rear seats in a '25? Mine recline and the bottom folds up, but there doesn't seem to be a way to fold the backs down like I've seen on the '24s.

Good luck. I've had a PCM on order for my RHO since 2/3. I think there are currently 130+ on order and I'm told I am #8 on the list. Ram Cares won't even call me back. My case manager hasn't picked his phone up since 2/10. I call daily for updates. The parts ETA pushes back 3 days, every 3 days. There is no real ETA. I had my truck for about 2 days. 327 miles.

For your truck, I would ask the dealer to pull a PCM off a truck on the lot and see if that fixes it, rather than waiting. I would have my dealer do the same, but they do not have any RHO's. All 2025 3.0L PCM's have the same P/N , just different software. Another Rebel should work for you as a swap, or so I'm told.....
Customer care called yesterday to say that buy back is again denied and they are closing the ticket since the dealership is waiting for the PCM. They said I can reopen if the new PCM doesn't fix the issue. I will call he dealership to see if they can pull it from another truck.
