Curious who else sees this, how often and if anybody knows why? I’ve done 108k miles and have never seen it. Now I’ve seen it twice in one last 600 miles. Fuel pump was replaced at 99k. Only thing I’ve done different was switch to castrol 5w40 oil changes every my 5k miles, doc diesel oil filter since 90k. IMG_8461.jpeg

Everyone gets that message. You will see that message for Active regens, passive regens are not posted. Here's how and when regens happen.
02ba-Active Passive Regens Explained.jpeg

To simplify active regens:
An active regen will occur every 24 hours regardless of the DPF soot level.
An active regen will also occur if the soot level hits 80% during the 24 hour period.
At the end of an 80% active regen, the 24 hour time clock restarts.
An 80% active regen will last 15-25 miles depending on load and driving conditions.
A 24 hour active regen will last according to the soot level at that time.

Interesting, my 2023 never got that message until I did a GDE tune. Typically, I drive 800 miles a week.

I did read something similar on another forum as well I just found it interesting and I’ve done 108k miles without seeing it ever. Now twice in a week. I have idled a bit more in the last few weeks but not by much. No CEL and everything seems good I just found that strange.

Just hit 68,000km after 3 years of ownership and have had the message 3 times. All times have been within a day of the truck being parked for 1-2 weeks due to out of town business trips or vacation. The timer makes lots of sense as my daily commute is 40 minutes each way on the highway. Plenty of passive regens.

I should clarify that my posts 2 & 3 are relative to 2019+ 6.7 Cummins trucks. I don't know if the new Ecos have the same process or not. Maybe you new Eco owners can chime in and tell me if you have an EVIC DPF gauge and the same regen processing.

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and get that message about every few weeks. I have read that it is due to me not getting it out on the highway enough to "clear it's throat." Its true I live in a relatively small town and don't drive it on the highways enough, so I guess this will be my reality. Absolutely love the truck though!

2021 with 26K, 90% freeway driving. No regen messages.

I've seen the message a total of 3 times now and all within the last month. I'm at ~110k miles and recently pulled a trailer ~6k lbs. I drive on the highway all the time and thought pulling that trailer would clear its throat but still got a message the other day.

Only seen it a couple times in my 2020. Usually after spending too much time driving at slow speeds in the construction areas around me. I just drive it long enough to say it completed

This has been my experienced, too. GDE tune (listed as an option, that I wanted) shows me the regen message. I never saw it before.

Same here, never got the regen message until I got it GDE tuned (I selected the option.) Before then I just had to keep my eyes and ears open for the raised idle speed (800RPM compared to 650RPM) and the change in exhaust note at low speeds. In My experience my truck does a regen every 30-40 engine hours or 900-1200 miles. that's about on par with some of the heavy equipment I work with.

The Banks iDash SuperGauge plugs right into the OBD port and provides a ton of insight. You can even select an option for soot level (shown as a %) and regen status (On or Off). I show my boost, regen status, soot %, and a few other temps. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have two of the iDash DataMonsters, one for each truck. I just picked up a Scangauge 3 and I am now playing with it in the ED. Still working on decoding the names of the data sets but I like the Scangauge. It offers up to 9 data sets on one screen, it has three screens for data, and it is almost half the cost of the iDash. The downside is it doesn't record data and is much larger than the iDash. Also, the Scanguage allows you to add additional PIDs, the iDash doesn't unless Banks provides an update.

That new scangauge looks good. I was debating the scangauge 2 for one of my other vehicles. Now I'm glad I waited

Hey you all, I have a 2020 2500. My truck regardless of driving temps, conditions , towing etc, my truck will go into regen every 90 miles. The dealer did a pressure test on the radiator and noticed a radiator hose had a leak and the t-stat was not working properly so they replaced tstat and hose. I also had the radiator flushed due to the pressure test by the direction of the service rep. Of course I had to pay for the hose and flush but everything else was covered. I drove it home and noticed the DPF already climbing up. Any ideas before it goes back into regen and I take it back to the shop? If this keeps happening I’m sure something is going to fail in the system due to constant regen. @RamCares any ideas? Truck has 33,500 miles
Thanks
