Want to Upgrade Harman Kardon System Bass Easiest Way?

There is a skar audio 10" sub enclosure built for the 5th gen ram. I have the Harmon kardon system so I took the sub out of the crappy box behind the seat and put it in the skar box extended the wires and boom wayyyy better sub.
thanks you, is your box just one side under the rear seat or it takes both side

Can you clarify the change this had on the overall sound of the HK system?
To me the last thing the HK system needs is more boom. The stock sub is WAY too boomy to where i had to have the bass on -6 to even get close to a balanced sound.
Are you saying the stock sub wasn't boomy enough for you? Maybe I'm not understanding the effect the change has on the sound.

dont know for nick126 but for me.the sub is not enough, but just a little.missing, so his way might be the way ill go

for me the rest sound good, but the bass is a little less strong then my alpin was, so just looking to put it at that level of bass

In my opinion with the sub in the stock location it made the sub sound very mid bassy and boomy like you said once moved into a larger ported box it allowed the full range of sub sound to be heard meaning all the nice rumbly lows that in the small plastic enclosure were simply missing now it sounds like I have a proper system with a proper sub in stock form of course

It takes up a majority of the underseat storage but there is still a bit of space under the smaller section of the two flip up seats

Thanks to Nick for suggesting it. Simple install and definitely improved the bass quality. Not as punchy/boomy as before in the stock subwoofer box. Looking for a 10” 6 ohm subwoofer to replace the stock one and I think I’ll be happy

Just just purchased the same box and am looking forward to hearing it. I am however upgrading both the sub itself and running a separate amp. I had both sitting around and figured why not?!?! Im sure its going to sound night and day compared to the factory sub set up.

For those of you who moved the HK sub to the Skaraudio box, how did you mount an 8" woofer in a 10" box?

Does this box allow access to the storage bins?

There ya go

I might be missing it but it seems Nick is referring to just the space under the seats. I'm actually wondering about the infloor (subfloor) storage cubbies. They have doors that flip up and a lot of these boxes sit right on the doors rendering the cubbies unusable. Curious if the cutouts on the side of these sub boxes allow room for those doors to open....

Judging by this pic, the box doesn't seem to be blocking access to those floor bins. Every setup I've had under my backseats, the box is clear of the floor. You won't have any issues

To those that moved the HK sub into the Skar box, what did you do for the wiring? Clip the connector off? What color wires go for + and - ?

I just posted a review of the ground shaker box made for our trucks. I think it’s a pretty modest bass upgrade. I have the H/k system as well.
