Does the Hellwig 7709 come with lubrication for the bushings? I noticed that the product photo shows lube, but my box did not have any. Pretty sure I have something laying around that would be suitable.

Is this only open to people who are in the military?
According to the good folks at AAFES, only active duty service members, members of the Guard and Reserves, military retirees, 100-percent disabled veterans, Medal of Honor recipients, and the families of these groups are eligible to shop at AAFES locations, either online or on-base. To apply, the online application process will attempt to verify you based on your SSN or military service number. If it doesn't recognize your number, you have to upload documentation such as a DD214. The verification process was very fast for me.

It did come with a small tube of lube but, based on communication on the thread it was suggested to use marine grease since I deal with salt and snow. I grabbed a tube for $5 and used that.

Lucas makes a pure synthetic grease that works pretty good for stuff like this and doesn't eat into the rubber. It's not as thick as the stuff that often comes with rubber bushings, but it's likely the next best thing. It works well as dielectric grease too. I get it at Advance Auto.

I don't know about that. KY has solved many an important issue for me and my sweetie. There's no limit to what you can do with that stuff. :giggle:
Ok, here's where I need some clarification. Early on, I thought your "sweetie" was your truck. Then I figured out it was a person, I think. Now is definitely the time to ask, which is it?

Guess what I got already. Some folks are waiting a month. I only had to wait ONE DAY. o_O

LET'S DO SOME UNBOXING

Looks like these come from Visalia, California. Unless they have their own jet plane delivery service, mine must have been staged somewhere a lot closer. Manufacture date was 6 Aug 2021.

Hellwig03.jpg

The box wasn't wrapped or banded. It was just stapled together with copper staples.

Hellwig04.jpg

Now that's what I call an excellent use of just a little packing material. Hats off to Hellwig on that one.

Hellwig05.jpg

I really like the thickness of this sway bar. MUCH thicker than the stock one. I'm not crazy about the hammered finish. But it's okay.

Hellwig06.jpg

The center holes on mine are just like others have reported. This is not a paint build up. Like I suspected, it looks like the three holes were stamped with a press but only the first and last were cleaned up with a drill.

Hellwig07.jpg

Hellwig08.jpg

There is also a deformity where the bar was clamped during bending. I have contacted Hellwig about this.

Hellwig09.jpg

Here's the accessory kit. Everything appears to be there.

Hellwig10.jpg

These bushings have numbers on them. I Googled M02102 but didn't find them.

*** MORE FROM LAST POST ***

The shackles look pretty nice. No issues there.

Hellwig12.jpg

I like the Allen head bolts. And there is that bushing grease we talked about. I got it with mine. It has a part number too.

Can't wait to get this installed. I'm off from my day job Friday but have to go do an Environmental job for my side business. There is no rest for the wicked. Hopefully, I will get this thing installed this weekend and then I will report back with more. Yeehah! :D (y)

The bushings in my kit were too large. The bar was loose in them.

But the factory bushings and brackets work just fine. Actually I prefer the factory rubber bushings over the poly bushings.

Anyone else notice this?

My bushings were fine. And using the stock rubber ones takes away from the performance increase the sway bar gives you. There is a reason all performance suspension parts use poly bushings.

Go big or go home. Use the inside hole for stiffest setting

Here's what Hellwig's customer service had to say about the middle hole issue. Bold was done by me.

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, it seems you might have a defective bar, in relation to the holes. All holes should be the same size.

Please know that you are okay to grind out the hole a bit, using a Dremel or perhaps a drill bit that can work through steel, if need be. It may have been that the punch used to manufacture the bar might have worn down a bit, causing this small defect. We are sorry for this.

I do apologize for the inconvenience this causes. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Huh, I received mine yesterday as well - but all 3 holes are uniform. Must have multiple presses and luck of the draw.

For better or worse, I accidentally ordered the bar from two different places. This one came directly from Hellwig. The other from Amazon and it arrives today. If Hellwig says to send it back, I guess I could just use the other one, assuming it's correct.

I’ll be curious to your experience with the new bar since your stock bar is about the same thickness
