TSB #24-001-20 A/C Fix. Has anyone had it done yet? Plus are you happy with the results?

Wait, so a Ford dealer is doing your AC TSB?
Sorry I didn't clarify. I get my loaner from the Ford dealer, and they brought my truck to the Dodge Dealer for repair. All correspondence goes through the Ford dealer. Should be getting my truck back today.

How long have they had it? Mine goes in tomorrow morning and they are estimating 8 hours. I have little hope of seeing the truck after one full day.

Wow, that sounds short. Mine had my truck for three days.
Agreed - I think the actual TSB says they should expect 5-6 man hours - I am rounding up they will need the day. I am not sure how it would get to 3 days but if it is done right I wouldn't complain. I will have a loaner with AC that works. LOL! So I consider that a win

Finally got my truck back. It was there for about 7 days, including the weekend. The results are better than before. I expected the temp to be closer to 40. But it definitely feels colder and more comfortable so far. Everything else still works.

That’s about where mine is after the TSB, compressor, and an evaporator. Definitely worth it though lol.

Better than before for sure. If I would have had to pay for it I would still be using the hack. I won’t put it back on right away so I can really test it

Well... I have been following this situation, on and off, for a while now. I still have not talked with the dealer.
But I suppose the fact that I can get 48 degrees F, at the vents, with upper 90s ambient, would indicate that I should sit down and shut up, and count my blessings. (It takes forever to get there, though, if I start with a closed up truck, on a hot day.)

Mines 50 to 53 to the left of the center stack now after the TSB. Before it was 60+
Not stellar but definitely better. It wouldn’t get to 40 even with the hack in place

My 48 was measured to the left of the instruments, in the corner.
I usually leave the thermometer in its plastic "pocket clip / sheath", and it wouldn't fit through the slats on the center vent.

How high were you temping before? That looks closer to 60 than to 40

One key thing to remember when taking these temps, the way the system is designed you have to rev to at least 1500 rpm to get what the techs would use. Mine gets into the high 40s since all the work was done to mine. But that’s with reving to 1500 rpm and above. Before, it wouldn’t get below 60

I thought most of were driving when we took temps. Sitting stationary @ 1500 rpm doesn't seem like a good sampling.

picking mine up in about an hour - will repot back as soon as I am back home. Fingers crossed it's fixed AND that nothing else was broken in the process.

It was 60+ before the TSB. Not sure if it's because of where I live and the high humidity. I always take my readings after driving for 30 min too.
My loaner F150 vent temp was under 50, but not 40

I can’t remember where I saw the document. But that’s how the techs test our AC system. They have to rev the truck to at least 1500 rpm.
It makes some sense because mine will get into the high 40s once I start driving the rpms are 1500 and above. Once I’m at idle it dips into the low to mid 50s depending on ambient temps.

Sounds nice. What’s the outside temp when you see this?
