Agreed. Good for him - he shouldn’t be ashamed of doing well with his business.
Personally, I make it a point not to flaunt nice things when I go in for negotiations with developers. It would be pretty hard to cry “poor” while standing in front of a $90k truck.

It is a weird deal with expensive cars and contractors.. I do a lot of house flipping etc.. and for me it's a red flag is when the contractor comes over with a more expensive car than I have or he doesn't have a truck.
there is nothing wrong with it..but it makes you analyze the situation a little more closely.

heat the body and adhesive with a heat gun till the metal is just barley uncomfortable hot, then slowly with a thumb roll it off, once its all off some rubbing alcohol and a old microfiber towel you rub off the rest then through that towel away since you cant get it out

That’s ridiculous. You are willing to judge him on his vehicle versus the work. Some would look at that and say wow. Dude does such a good job he daily drive a Trx. So silly.

Yeah, this really makes no sense when you can option a Ram 1500 to 75k+.
A 2500 or 3500 from Ford, GM or Ram can easily pass $100k.
I'd base a decision for a contractor off his work, not what they drive.

FYI, this contractor was subbed by another contractor I hired. He did the job and a bunch of of other work for free. He used to work at Intel in Oregon and has tons of money. He just likes staying busy and helping people. I actually posted these same photos on the 5th gen FB page and it went so far off the rails I ended up nuking the entire post. People do make money in lots of ways cryptocurrencies, rental properties and so on. I never judge anyone for where they live or what they drive as you have no idea of their paths through life.

Sway bar helps so much. I have it on the stiffest and I definitely notice a difference.

The install on the rear tow hooks were super easy. I didn’t have issues with my spare tire in the way

Installed the DeeZee tie downs. Would recommend. 250# limit each. Comes with OEM-style hex shaped nutserts and a great little ball bearing tool to set the nutserts. I used a small file and box cutter to remove the spray liner in the hex holes. Nutserts slid right in. Easy to do both in 15 min. 5mm allen wrench and 10mm box end wrench for the nutsert tool and 4mm allen wrench for the screws.

Don’t judge him by what he drives, judge him by his references, the bid he presented and how busy he is. If you do your due diligence, you’ll have checked his references and gotten more than one bid.

Today, it’s more “He’s driving a nice truck, so he must work hard and be successful enough to afford it”
In this day and age, most successful trades people today aren’t driving a 98’ rust bucket and are able to start a job the next day. Not to say that this can’t be true, or that the guy with the new truck isn’t drowning. Just that it’s not the norm.
