I'll start looking into that. My plan is to offer it in sections. You can buy one or all of the sections. I'll start from the front and work backwards. Thank you all for the input.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I put my air dams back on my truck simply because I drive through tall grass on occasion, and didnt like the lack of protection from the rotating components on the front of the engine. A skid plate for me doesn’t need to withstand rock crawling hits, but should block debris from entering that cavity between the bumper and engine.

Really excited to see someone putting some effort to this!

The factory "Skid Plates" on the Rebel suck. I barely kissed a rock with mine and it bent. I will build something that can withstand rocks but I'll do my best to not overkill it..........which will be hard for me. I have a tendancy to overbuild everything I do.

it would be great if you built the same one but had two different metal gauges then you could have a light duty for guys like me who just want to fill in where the air dam is removed and heavy duty for those who off road.

Would also be nice to have an aluminum option for those like me who deal with road salt and rust.

could be the same design just three different metal options.

That is likely what we will do. It may be just two options (aluminum or steel) but I think two options could work great and cover more peoples needs.

If I was to design and manufacture a full bell skid in multiple peices, who would be interested, what pieces would you be interestered and what would you be willing to spend? If it is worth while I will design and offer a full belly skid in pieces (probably about three pieces) and make it available to purchase all or just pieces. Let us know.

I think a lot of us are looking for a skid plate to cover the area between the bumper and lower control arms when the front air dams are removed from the truck. Nobody makes this accessory now, so there’s no competition for you if you do it. Even better if you can make it with some aesthetics so it’s not literally a flat plate with a few connection holes in it!
I'm in for the bumper to engine crossmember section. Oil access. Dimple dies?

I guess I need to start a “What crap got stuck between your bumper and front crossmember today” thread. 🤪 I stopped for deer playing in the road and a fawn took off on a full speed run towards me and slid it’s hooves on the pavement and slid under the bumper into the open area. Had to back up quickly before it tried to stand up! No damage, but I didn’t look very close.

By the way, does everyone’s crank pulley assy wobble? Mine and a couple others I’ve looked at do?

We've been working on a few custom jobs that came up as well as developing some other parts for 4th gen 1500s and 2500/3500 trucks. I haven't forgot about you all. This is still high on the list.

Following this page for info on covering that big gap.

Question…didn’t really noticed, but the vented crossmember…and behind it, is the steering components. Is it suppose to be vented for cooling reason, or just to make it lighter weight.

I am so damn glad I found this thread. I removed the static air dam when I vinyl wrapped the bumper on my truck and was about to get around to removing the active air damn when I realized that without that there is truly nothing to stop debris from flying up into the engine bay. The lack of aftermarket protection out there is really surprising, so kudos to all the legwork done here on the DIY end and to Shifts & Grins for realizing the gap in the market for a product like this! Count me in for a steel one as soon as it is available!

Does anybody know what the trx has on theirs? I'm more than happy to order that, then working out the kinks to get it or fit on my bighorn...whenever I get it...lol

Should be 68445551AB. Takes a few brackets as well. I know the rebel bash plate is the same as the trx, but haven't gotten into ordering parts for fitment testing yet.
