That would be a little easier to take, but at the time of my order we discussed the penfed coupon and I confirmed to him that I signed up for an account and had to wait the 60 days. So I feel like I did everything correctly, other than not knowing about losing that coupon if the financing options changed.
I just checked my paperwork and my salesman didn't put PenFed on the sales order (we discussed it), but I never signed anything, either. He also made clear a number of items could change price-wise (trade in the going up, pay-off going down, if I wanted to put more $$$ down at delivery, etc). I will probably order a 22 with Uconnect5 if I don't get the $1000 Penfed on the 21.

Doesn’t sound like the discounts will be nearly as steep, so you could pay $5k-$10k and wait ANOTHER 3-4 months because you didn’t get $1,000 discount? Is unconnect5 that good? (And why?)

Waiting another 5-6 months is not worth $1000 to me.

I would like to be able to wait, but after 2 weeks truckless I already can't stand not having one so a longer wait wouldn't be great. Plus I would be worried about the pricing jump going for a 22 as others mentioned. It sucks and I'm not happy about it but I'm hoping that will fade away from me once I have it here.

A major failure on Aaron's part since you brought it up to him before the order, and my guy did the same thing (I have it in writing I told him). I am going to play dumb and demand an extra dealer discount or more on trade if they don't make it work. But by then they may bring the incentives back up being late in the model year even with tight inventory. Don't expect it to arrive until at least mid July.

Moving along. Inspection has passed and I’m at body vendor for bedliner and steps. Was told after this is final inspection and than shipped to dealership. Moving good so far. Today is seven weeks from order.

Yep it's a crapshoot in terms of what the summer and fall will bring for availability and pricing, and I love gambling but I can't gamble that much. If somebody asked me a month ago if I could have my truck the next day for $1,000 more, I would have done it. Or I may just be coming up with ways to justify the increase from yesterday and talk myself into proceeding anyways.

Seems to jump about $2,000 a year in MSRP - https://www.cars.com/research/ram-1500/

maybe higher on the top trims.

Well shoot, if that's the case, this may be my only high-trim truck. I won't be able to afford that increase every year, unless Aaron ups that discount by the same :p

Come on window sticker!

Looks like I’m a bit ahead of you as mine made it to the rail yard in Detroit yesterday. And it only took three days to get there from where you are now. Remind me where you are. Mine will be on a slow train to Portland, OR where I have been told it can sit for up to a week before heading to the dealer. I did get the safety group & blind spot so really surprised they got it out so soon.

decided to just check out Ram Chat for the 1st time just to see what happens.
here is what happened:

Me: Just checking on the status of my order (keep in mind I just ordered ,lol)

Ram Chat- Thank you for waiting! I can see your order has been released from the factory and was approved for shipping. Shipping arrangements have not been completed yet but it should be leaving soon! There is no ETA listed at this time. I recommend keeping in touch with your dealer.

hi BXXXX are you sure you have the right truck? I just ordered on may 3? lol it was in D status
8:31:30 AM

Ram Chat:
Oh I am so sorry Andre! I meant to send that to another chat! This is your status- I can see all the required materials for your order have been gathered and the plant has sequenced your order for production, it should be entering the build very soon!

so after this 1st Chat I am guessing that RAM Chat is not too reliable for info...

Anxiously awaiting my delivery. Ram Chat provides little to no information “I am showing that your vehicle is in the shipping stage however a Dealer ETA has not been provided. It will remain in this stage until delivered to the Dealer.” Dealer hasn’t provided any additional information either. Nearly 2 weeks since my window sticker popped up, hoping it isn’t too long to get to CO! This is the hardest part of the wait thus far!

I hope my dealer is wrong but he told me today that the Stellantis/Ram rep told them they are shutting the plant down 6/1 for two months due to microchip shortages. I asked about retooling and he said there was no retooling needed for the 22’s.

I understand that info doesn’t really fall in line with what others have said here but, wanted to share the info I was given.

Fingers crossed I’m on the list before 6/1.

You have one on order exactly like you want it. I would definitely be happy with what you are getting because the $1000 you are not getting off is peanuts to the pricing you will get on a 2022. Plus I wouldn't want the first run of the Uconnect 5 because there will be issues for sure.

As I understand it, D1 means all of your parts have been gathered, so if your information is correct, everyone that reached D1 should be okay.

You want to talk about sticker shock? The last truck I bought new is what I'm driving now. It stickered for $35k back in 2007. Sure I'm going up in a trim but I figure if I keep this one 14 years then I won't be able to buy a new one ever again. Back in 07 $50k bought you a fully loaded 1 ton dually.

How did you know the status after it shipped?

Ramchat told me my truck was built at the beginning of May.....I actually just moved to D1 yesterday. My dealer and Ramchat both confirmed D1.

So yes...take Ramcares with a grain of salt.
