Toyo Open Country AT III on 20' Limited with 22"

The Michelin's are "stiff"??? Are you kidding me?
All LT tires have reinforced sidewalls which make them far less "compliant" when encountering bumps and road irregularities. I have no need for the extra load capacity and enjoy the smooth, noiseless ride of the "P" rated tires of which are not only available in the size I wanted but for less money than "LT" tires in general.
 
Where are you all getting your tires? Best I have been able to find for 285/50 22 is $414/tire for the Toyo’s at Discount Tire. Trying to find the best price for my purchase.
Check dealer, Mopar is running a sale buy 3 get a tire for $1. I got a quote on four Toyo At3s 35x12.5x20, 2 yr road side warranty(included in tire prices), mount, balance,rotations and alignment $1400 some change. If you don’t want them to mount it Discount told me they would match the price if I show them quote.

Super stiff. They are a 10 ply vs most other 2 or 4 ply. I ran them on my 17 limited and it was a very noticeable ride penalty as well as 5-10% mileage drop. They upside was they were super durable and had amazing grip in even ice and snow. I imagine the ride penalty would be even more noticeable on 22 inch tires. I went with continentals on my 21 limited and am very pleased.

Funny...I love these tires. I haven't noticed any hard or harsh ride or any decrease in mileage. I do have the air suspension, so maybe that has helped, but I enjoyed them as well on my 2019.
 
Smoother, no more noise than stock, way cheaper with an actual mileage warranty and better in the rain.

Pulled trigger on Toyo 33x12.50R22 on stock limited black rims. Waiting on arrival.

Aren't these P-Series tires and not LT?
The LTX is the model name, no?

I had air on my 17 and I thought that was a nice ride but the 21 isn’t even in the same league. I’ll bet the 5th gen suspension can handle the tougher ride better. Aside from the ride and mileage they were the best tires I had ever bought - quiet, amazing grip and tread life. Wasn’t enough for me to try them again tho, but no disputing it’s a super high quality tire

Hi all,
I was following this thread for a while before I bought the AT3s. So far they have been great. They feel more stable. Only slightly louder than the OEM tires. As far as fit, I have the 33x12.5 R22 on stock wheels. I have a 2019 Limited 2wd The only rub I got was on the passenger well when locked to the left. I had to remove a very small piece of well to clear all heights and radius. I have some photos of the piece I removed as well as the truck at entry/exit, normal, and OR2.

I have the same wheels and thinking of going with the 285/50/22 just to fill out the wheel well a little better, they are about 3/4” taller but not as wide... it’s a toss up..

2020 Limited w/ 285/50R22 TOYO AT3s. Stock air suspension, no spacers.
These tires are great at interstate+ speeds, slightest bit more hum than the stock 285/45s, but almost imperceptible and feels so much more locked in now. I can definitively say that they are excellent on snow and ice after a few hundred miles on those conditions in the northern Colorado mountains. I keep at 55-60 psi and the ride is surprisingly smooth For LT tires, feel even smoother than the stock 285/45s In city and backroad driving—which I write off to the extra inch of sidewall. Huge upgrade in how the truck drives and feels, as if the tires were specifically engineered for this truck.
Should be noted that there is a slight rub in wheel well in Aero and Normal ride height at full turn. I only had to apply around 20 lbs of pressure with my fingertips where tires were rubbing to bend the wells out enough not to rub anymore.
MPG decreased by 1-2 with the new tires, but I can still get 18+ mpg if I behave on the throttle.

Great looking truck, I think I’m going with the same tire, looks a little more aggressive then the Nitto terra grappler, but less then the Ridge grappler.

Johnnyd75, what are your 1st impressions of these tires (feel, road noise, etc.)? Truck looks great. Thinking about adding the WT bug/stone deflector as well.

Had them installed the day before driving down to Florida and back (approx 840 miles) round trip. I now have 1800 miles on them and I think they are great. Noticeably louder than stock Eagle touring but not by much. So a little hum. Still feel great with the air suspension and all height modes. Full lock reverse a slight rub. Love the look and ride they have. They were at 36 psi but I bumped them up to 42psi last Saturday which seems better so far.
I also have Daystar spacers in front along with RC brackets. I recommend them for sure. I paid 1397.00 out the door but had to wait a week to come in here in Charleston.

@Johnnyd75 how did they effect your MPG's? I'm looking at moving up to 22's and these 285/50's.

Definitely went down. I have a 36 mile total transit to/from work each day. I’m on interstate for around 25-28 of those and average around 15.4-15.8 mpg
