Couldn't this also be done by comparing images of the OEM brackets since folks have removed them from the 2020 & 2021?

Images may not be good enough for very subtle differences, but it would still be great if people could submit a photo of their OEM brackets.

I'll start off, here are mine off of a 2021 RAM 1500 Limited:

To be absolutely certain, it would require someone physically having brackets off of both 2020 and 2021 trucks and then directly comparing them right next to each other with proper measurements. Pete should have had access to both, and there are now two variations in the Right-On brackets. This would make sense only if there are two different style OEM brackets and yet the OEM part number has not changed for 2021.

If anyone still has their OEM brackets, either from 2020 or 2021, please check the back and ensure the part number is 68414475AC. If you see anything other than this part number, please post a photo of it here. Otherwise, I think we can safely assume that all part #68414475AC brackets are identical. If there was any significant change in the dimensions, a new part number would have been issued.

Attached is a photo comparing both brackets. The left one is the 2021, the right one is the 2020. As you see, the holes are slightly different. These hole alignments are pulled from the OEM brackets.

The 2020 bracket looks a bit longer? Although if you compared the measurements from the bend and use that as your reference face, the holes actually appear to be in the same spots at the same dimensions.... not sure why there would be any difference or discrepancies?

I don't think that they're longer, that might just be a perspective issue on the photo.

I think the holes are just oriented more toward one side vertically. This would probably just raise or lower the height of the brackets depending on which ones you selected. I've asked Right-On Brackets to let me test the 2021's against the 2020's installed on my 2021 RAM. That should end the confusion if they agree.

Good evening,

We've received nothing but good feedback on the 2021 RAM bracket variation. Reach out to us if you have any questions: [email protected]

Here's a link to the RAM bracket on our website for more information:

What's stopping you?
they are on backorder for 4-6 weeks. Looked at Lomax also because you can you can totally remove and sounds like they need tweaking more the the RO brackets which were ordered today. Still hoping by some miracle that this gets figured out.

I had to cut my rails for my Lomax. Also had to add additional marine weather stripping at the front of the bed by the cab due to the RO brackets' 3/8" thickness. Appear to be mostly leak free now and would still do it the same instead of using the stock soft cover.

Just installed the Truxedo Pro X15.
Took about 15 minutes. Looks great and ran it through the car wash - it is pretty much leak free. I’d definitely recommend it for the <$500 range.

Sorry, but I still think the 2020 - 2021 bracket thing is a hoax. Same part number but, the holes are aligned differently??? I just don't believe it. There would be ZERO reason for RAM to change the position of the holes and, if they did, the part numbers would differ.

After measuring the OEM brackets from the 2020 an 2021 RAM models, they're indeed different. The 2020 and 2021 RAM replacement brackets both fit perfectly as a replacement to fit most tonneau covers. We have a few dozen customers confirming this.

If you're concerned or have questions, please reach out to us directly.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for all of the great info! Ordered a right on bracket, the recessed screws from amazon, and a Bak Revolver X4s cover along with an Adarac Aluminum truck rack in black. Fingers crossed everything fits together and I'll be a happy camper. Will update with my results once everything comes in.

I could not find your update on this cover. I have gotten the RO brackets and I am looking at the Bak Revolver X4 cover too. Did you have any problems on the install?
